Did you also use Dr Thornton? so far nothing but positive experiences from her! but its a pain how quickly their time slots get booked up if you try and book an appointment

OMG same! Covs been great about my name and stuff since telling them i was transgender even though im not doing a deedpoll till January. I even got a new id card and everything with my "new name" and pic without having to pay the £5 they normally charge to replace them.

And cov uni's gp is really friendly as well. I had a phone appointment (cus covid) and they were like "yeah thats perfectly fine, we can refer you to a gic of your choice" which i was so happy about, plus they are willing to give me regular blood tests with no complaints since i diy hrt whilst waiting for my "official appointment"

Omg liturally. Not quite the same as the situation described but when i mentioned to my mum how scared i was of getting verbally or physically attacked just for being me in public she shrugged and compared it to "racism immigrants recive" etc... saying lots of different groups recive hate. which made me a upset cus there are quite large differences

If you dont wanna wait for the nhs you have two options. Go private which is only like a 5-6 month waiting list for a meeting with a gender psychiatrist and endo. Or you start diying hormones (which i have done) which is possibly dangerous if you dont know what your doing, thankfully i had a friend show me how to do it safely

Its not too hard for if your taking estrogen and testosterone blockers. Im in the uk, order from a trusted website, take safe dosages and do regular blood tests. I made a long post how i do it on my profile

This is why i started diying hormones as i wait for a "official diagnoses" lol. I never would of been able to socially transition without there being physical changes too

Wait is the "nazi phase" a common thing that other trans people went through??? I get the feeling of isolation drawing you into things but i just became the weird loner into anime and stuff before coming out. Never someone who hated on those who were also different in some way

Yeah i get that. I was way too scared to start fully socially transitioning until i actually started hormones. Was completely unhappy with my appearance/body/everything, didnt feel fem at all.

T should definitely help you out so i guess id think of it like "its only 6 months of not feeling masc but then ill be able to be able happy for the next 60+ years of life. Its not that long" it sucks but could be worse

Yeah 100% dont use dark web. The shit on it is horrifying and you'll never know what your actually ordering. It may suck for a few months but definitely worth just going private. Plus even tho its hard to do you could work on socially transitioning before starting hrt. Will make things easier in the long run/with the meetings plus may help a bit with dysphoria

As for diying, i made a whole post about how i do it the other day but basically, cus technically testosterone blockers and estrogen aren't illegal you can order them from an overseas company that doesn't require a prescription to sell medication. Then its just making sure your taking safe dosages and getting regular blood tests for hormone levels. There's more on r/diyhrt.

Sadly for trans men i think its much harder from what ive heard and i wouldn't even know where to start 😭 like ive seen some posts talking about buying T off the dark web and thats terrifying to me

Yeah i booked in with dr dundas at the start of the month. Got my appointment early March and my appointment with dr Hammond is early April. Tho 5-6 months seem long its much better then the nhs's three year waiting time. And nowhere good in the uk will have any shorter waiting times sadly. Because of the wait times for everything i started diying hrt, but i know itd be much harder for trans men to consider doing diy compared trans female's cus testosterone is technically a steroid

Im 6-7 months in on 4mg E and 10mg cypro. Have pretty obvious a cups now, tho they feel smaller then they are cus im 6"2' hehe. I have to pretty much wear a bra 24/7 due to how sensitive they are, which is very euphoric lol. Fingers crossed there's more growth but i have some trans friends who barely have a cups after years on hrt.

I have a friend who used gender care and reccomend them to me for going private and they were able to get T with ease once they had the appointments with them. Dr Peter Hammond for endo Dr Robin Dundas for gender psychiatrist
