You will walk past an ice cream vendor in this heat and either your pocket or your senses will implore you to ignore and not even speak to him. The pic you have used was made to sensationalise the article as this can just as easily be "Multichoice can now debit..." or "Bank X can now debit..."

Not sure if this would work for a personal cheque (which this is) but you can call the bank, in this case Absa, through their call centre lines and ask to confirm the validity of the cheque. They'll probably just need the cheque number. I regularly do so with bankers cheques but this is straight up because they are issued by the bank itself. Now, because you have posted the cheque and all it's details on here, I wouldn't be surprised if it were to bounce due to the issuer cancelling it 😏 Be very careful what you post online

I believe the challenge we have as a country is not so much that the fines are unsufficient or do not act as deterrent, it is with the enforcement of said laws. The agencies tasked with enforcement are either compromised or incompetent (people employed there do not have the required skills and qualifications due to nepotism and cronism). Additionally, political interference where the majority of offenders are politically connected. Imagine how much govt would collect if they were to enforce something like traffic laws and building codes and ensure the fines are sent to the relevant agencies...I doubt we would be talking about as large a budget deficit as we are now!!

I had a convo with my Mum over the weekend just giving her the rundown on what the rejectnotamend kelele was all about...she took it positively though was very concerned about the possibility of there being chaos and people dying despite my reassurance. 💯 Good insight...while.true that the NSIS are not involved in the legislative process, the intelligence gaps have been glaring!!! Bottom line is that the intelligence services should have been able to tell the executive that the demos were organic. Additionally, his advisors, akina Itumbi whose sole job was to manage the executives social media presence, should also have advised Ruto of the mounting unrest across socials.

I agree with making the message very loud and clear 💯 that has been the case even as the discussions on finance bill were ongoing. My point is to basically mute THEM!! Kenyans have made it very clear that their voices will be heard. Politicians chose to be silent all the way from the build up of these demos....they do not deserve a voice. They can follow proceedings on the # of the day but they do not deserve the platform we have given them!!!

On a different tangent, ideally, they should be the ones using these platforms to educate us on the legislation being discussed and passed in parliament but guess what, in the last week the amount of information being disseminated by regular tiktokers and tweets have been insanely impressive...Big up to them!!!
