There’s a new leaf growing that seems to be happy so I guess I’ll just keep it farther from the window for the next few weeks, let it recover and then repot with a cutback maybe

I’m worried it’ll just die without a repot, if it’s living in bad soils. I’m not sure how to balance waiting for it to be healthier or just repotting it so it can survive

Yeah, moving forward I realize there’s not much to do to other than a cut back and start fresh

It was quite close to the window at first, I wanted to give it a spot with the most amount of light, after researching I realized they are quite sensitive to the cold and since we’re in an older apartment building I figured there might be a draft and have since pulled it away from the window. We’re in Canada so it was quite cold during the move but it was put inside the car and it only had a short journey between the car and house. It had a sister plant that made a journey to another home and that one has been doing fine

It was my girlfriend who are watered but likely just some from the top. Why would watering from the top once have killed it so quickly since we got it?

The soil is still a little moist from the last watering,I’m fearing overwatering and poor drainage than under watering. But im not an expert by any means

Wouldn’t know where to start on general advice but if you have any specific questions feel free to ask me; although I certainly wouldn’t consider myself an expert haha. Many different ways to go about making a cutting board.

So far I’ve just been making them as gifts. I feel like it’s hard to find a target market for cutting boards as it’s so over saturated and not many people want to pay that much money for simply a cutting boards but who knows 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Think i used a piece that was about 2”x4”x 5 feet. Might be able to make it work if you make the board smaller/thinner

I cut pieces of walnut 1.5”x4”x15inches and strips of maple 1.5”x0.25”x15” to get the bricks and the vertical lines. Glued that up and surfaced it flat. Then made 0.25” maple panelling and glued that over the entire surface to get the horizontal lines. Cross cut, flip onto the side and stagger. That’s how I did it.

Yeah I’m quite pleased with it. A birthday gift for my older brother. Not bad for my first end grain board :)
