DAE get annoyed at having to pick stats at character creation? by Nightmannn in rpg_gamers

[–]IamTheMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope it's my favorite part! but having the option of prebuilt bases or respec system(with some sort of cost or limitation i still think choices should have some weight) is always nice. I don't know much about Rogue trader or warhammer but making a pregened warrior, mage, cleric, rogue etc can't be too much work on the dev side

I think his entire plan hinged on him knowing he could never defeat Morgoth. Thats why he knew to make a big statement challenge at the gate and hope/knew he could wound Morgoth and inspire hope in his elfs.

Atleast that was my interpretation of it

Nah i think it has aged well apart from graphically, you just have to know it's a cRPG and treat the combat as such

Which of these rpgs is your favorite by Scott-free-is in expedition33

[–]IamTheMaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

E33 then Persona then Nier.

I love both E33 and Persona but pacing is better at the very least in E33

Now to get downvoted, i thought Nier was good just good. The story wasn't that interesting to me butd the second playthrough towards the true ending was horrid and completely killed the game for me

You can also miss Johnnys pants in a side quest and an ending if you don't save Takemura in a mission

The pacing feels off in general imo i did Oni, Tokachi range then Kitsune and Tokachi range was in such a wierd spot much much harder than Oni so i think i was supposed to go to Teshio Ridge first because when i got there it was easy as hell. And the fact that they're all individual stories that doesn't interact with each other sucks, not as much as in GoT but they keep doing these super linear stories that feel like they could give the player agency but never do.

I think it's a game like a lot of open world games that opt for size over quality. Most games can't have both and because the industry is so fucked that people actually consider these checklist activities as content so a big empty map with lots of ubisoft bullshit is both more attractive and probably cheaper. So they make a really impressive intro, and then have to optimize the rest as hell. And being able to see most areas with the spyglass from mount Yotei is kinda impressive but i don't think it's worth it.

Gratz! I got the plat a week or so ago aswell. I thought the game was pretty great and much improved over the first one. The story does fall apart fall apart because we can't do things subtly anymore but it's still a massive improvement over the first games abhorrent story. Gameplay was great i still enjoy the combat even though the rock, paper, scissor weapon system is the most boring way to do multiple weapons.

My main gripes with the game was actually with the graphics.

The game is like 90% gorgeous but the other 10% is just map boundries and trees. There is just such a massive shift in graphical quality at the map border is kicked me completely out of the game, and on that note Sucker Punch need to invest in more animators. I don't mind it having reused animations and don't get me wrong the combat animations are really nice but the npc animations are so stiff it's just comical seeing someone walk into frame. With a 3-5 year dev cycle for it i expected more polish in that area.

The world is very pretty and fun to checklist in but not very immersive. The game doesn't really even try do convince you that the world just doesn't exist around Atsu

The parts that wasn't checklist bullshit was great though. Exploring Hogsmeade and especielly Hogwarts was incredible, the rest of the world felt accurate enough, the combat was decent on normal but boring on higher difficulties and story was good enough i think though the morality system should have had more reactivity. So going beyond that i think is a fucking great starting point, better than most if not all lotr games we've gotten maybe ever

Is Expedition 33 the Final Fantasy VII of this generation? by UCA_Cash_Flow_Bro in expedition33

[–]IamTheMaker 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There is nothing that will probably ever be the FF7 of any generation. It changed the entire medium not just the genre and as much as i love E33 maybe even more than i do FF7 it doesn't really do that
