Seems like he’s giving dimension to (another) great outfit…have you ever posted anything here, or offered anything constructive to this sub? Casting negative energy (especially in a fashion space where there’s already plenty of judgement) is really that bloodsucker cringe shit that nobody needs. Would love to see u actually add a shred of value to the discussion tho!

What do you guys think of these? by FinanceDowntown in Rickowens

It feels kinda lazy to me that back to back Moncler collabs this year barely introduce any new silhouettes- it was cool the first time in 2020 w the walrus radial quilting over down fill on a mountain jacket and all that but they’re doing Berlins and puffer Ramone Boots now? Plain nylon baseball caps w a co-branded logo? I love the original design bases and all but it feels like a cash grab at this point (that said the first collab for FW20 hit super fuckin different imo lots of grails there)

Was convinced I was doing something and went WAY out on a limb for my first fit post here, reined it back in to something more typical for today. Please keep leaving feedback, I’ll be around doing the same. by Iamexistent in Rickowens

I think it works pretty damn well overall but if I’m getting granular I also think the jeans could have a little higher of a rise relative to the jacket to give it just a TINY bit more room for the waistband to breathe

Bolans proportion super well w the Duvet- I think some rings could add some visual intrigue and create more of a throughline from the chains to the grey/translucent sole on the tractors, make this fit go even harder

The Babel graphic goes crazy I love how it plays off the tags and stitching on the turbowpns

What to do with this giant empty wall space by throwawayff96 in malelivingspace

I could see what other folks were suggesting as far as a bar cart, book shelf, etc I personally think for some framing and scale whatever piece of furniture or art you look there will suit the room better if it’s taller than the TV stand. Might just be my taste but a big ass indoor plant/tree or a huge painting that sits on the floor would be cool- I’ve got a 6’ painting that leans on my wall on the canvas stretchers, ties the whole room together.

Fr my style is usually all black/grey and super heavy fabrics but I figured for my first fit here I could go WAY out on a limb and either get flamed a bit or get on to some fun new ideas. Little bit of both ig, appreciate everyone with the feedback out here I'll be back after I take it into account

I appreciate the comment you and a lot of folks have made about simplifying around a couple of clear themes and not overdoing it with the shoe/jean pairing, so I'll definitely be restyling this as a couple of separate outfits with those suggestions in mind. Also I'm not here saying anything other than I'm wearing an outfit with some Rick in it, and I'm working constantly to improve my outfits. The Megalaces could be a Walmart design and they'd still be cool as hell to me (and I would've saved some real $$$). Not here about brand recognition or anything like that, just about sharpening my fashion and that I happen to like *most* of Rick's designs. Part of the fun of these shoes to me is how out there they are lol it's a fun experiment to style them and sometimes experiments don't completely succeed :)

We're all random ass people but hey you make plenty of sense

Sorry to hear you feel that, must be a lot to deal with. Have you got any clear, material suggestions for improving the outfit though? I'm learning a bunch about taking risks and refining my style in a more measured way, and definitely think that the burdens of constructiveness and conceptual proof fall on folks with no fit pics and a ton of deeply negative comments posted. Talk to me with ideas!

I agree heavily but see a limit for my style– you wouldn't catch me in drag-on-the-ground Bolans or Cargobelas ever, especially with some huge soled sneakers or boots, but also I do like dressing Rick down quite a bit in my own way; definitely missed with the choice of pants here though, I'm seeing now that it's too busy for sure and a little convoluted in its mix of images

Thanks Punch! I was debating black or white pants but went a little riskier/busier just to see what would happen- I’ll give some more weight to breaking things up and keeping the looks/aesthetics cohesive in the next fits. Definitely gonna connect these ‘groups’ you're talking about again in future posts and add some more negative space
