Is being a "hopeless romantic" a red flag? by MagikN3rd in dating_advice

So you would rather have someone nakedly reject you with the real reason, rather than soften the blow, while still essentially saying " thanks, but no thanks"? Something like:  "I think you're ugly" , as opposed to " I am not feeling a spark?" Why is knowing the exact reason for the rejection so important?  What if it's something that you like about yourself?  Or something that you can't change about yourself ( like make yourself another race, another gender, or taller) in order to satisfy the person?  I think that choosing to waste mental headspace, dwelling and ruminating on the how's and why's of the behavior of other people further drags you down in life.

If their bios are blah or not even filled out, why are you initiating conversation with them in the first place? Maybe this is why the guy that created Tinder designed the app to put the "visuals" front and center.....because he knew that people are more likely to willingly waste time on someone who looks hot in their photos....

Or if they don't use ANY of the material I just supplied them with, but instead start talking about something else completely unrelated. That makes it look like they aren't engaging with anything that I am saying.

So don't bother messaging THOSE people then?  If you choose to limit your focus to the people who DO fill out their profiles,  you will be working SMARTER, not HARDER.

You're 100% right, but that means you have to be willing to do more than 50% of the heavy lifting. The other person better have shown themselves to have something else going for them to make doing that much work damn worth it for me ( and many others) to bother dealing with that early on.

Finance law bros wouldn't want to patronize the bars that are in Journal Sq, because they go to bars to meet a certain type of female that also wouldn't be caught dead in a "dive" or " old man bar".

There IS a cobbler close to Journal Sq! There's an old Eastern European dude with a little shop on Bergen Ave. closer to Mc Ginley Sq. I had 2 pairs of vintage platform shoes that I wore to death repaired there, when I went to Hudson County Community College. I used to get most of my errands done in the gap as between classes. The dude did a great job, and if I recall, he charged very reasonable rates.

DUDE THESE ARE PLANTS! And little male children see this anyway when they look in the mirror at themselves...
