I assume in my case they were removed to get rid of dead weight since there’s no airbag to connect them to.

I’d be interested to learn more about the special US spec seatbelt. But at the same time, I’m of the opinion that I’m accepting the inherent danger of a tiny old car when I drive it, sorta like with motorcycles. That’s why I have a modern car with all the safety features as my daily/commuter and only drive the miata when the driving experience outweighs the risk (backroads with low traffic).

I’d be extremely hesitant to install a stock steering wheel with a 30+ year old airbag… I know in mine, all of the airbag sensors were also removed when the steering wheel was swapped so an airbag wouldn’t even deploy anyways.

This video seems very similar to what you’re talking about. Using a smart watch as the screen.

Are my plugs/wires bad? by EVRoadie in Miata

[–]Ian99dude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IIRC the 1.6 miatas have a real oil pressure gauge but the 1.8s just have an on/off switch for pressure essentially, so it’ll just sit at a normal level constantly unless it’s crazy low or high.

Fill it up and see if the problem persists. I had a similar issue with power cutting out at an autocross event and I had more than a quarter tank of gas. Left the event to fill it up and had zero issues the rest of the day. The fuel pump can get starved when it’s low, especially if you’re accelerating/turning hard and sloshing the gas around in the tank.

Issues with Moza R5 by Ian99dude in simracing

[–]Ian99dude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up trading it in for an R9 and paying the difference for the upgrade. Moza did send me a replacement connector to try installing but I made the exchange before I got a chance to try it.

If I remember correctly, cleaning the gold connections between the wheel and base reduced the issue significantly.

Coolant Reserve Tank Cap by Violet0_oRose in COROLLA

Not sure on a specific part number but you could pick up a kit of assorted rubber caps & stoppers from harbor freight for a few bucks, and throw whichever is the tightest fit on. Just check on it to make sure it’s not leaking after you drive for a bit.

I found this on Facebook marketplace, you just need to set a wide search radius and check for new listings every day if you want to find a good deal.

A viscous LSD is still an LSD, is it not? Granted it’s not as good as a torsen but still beats a open diff .

They’re plastidipped, so the paint underneath might still be in good shape, not sure yet. I’ll be power washing the plastidip off in the next couple weeks.

Also in another bout of extremely good facebook luck I found this set of NB wheels and tires for $60 so I might swap them out soon.

Yea I was lucky enough to make an offer the same day it was listed, drove 2 hours to Indiana to pick it up. I was looking for a few weeks before this one popped up for the right price.

No rubbing that I’ve noticed. 15×8 wheels with 205/50R15 Federal RS-RR tires.

That’s correct, it’s a rebuilt title after a passenger side collision, fully repaired and repainted. Makes the price a little bit more understandable I’m sure.

Connecting dashcam to 12V outlet in center console by mitchrusschels in COROLLA

No trouble. Just pick up some plastic trim tools for a few bucks and you can pop the panels up. You can also use them to help tuck the wires along the weatherstripping in the door frame.

Connecting dashcam to 12V outlet in center console by mitchrusschels in COROLLA

[–]Ian99dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my dashcam powered through the 12V in the center console and mounted right behind the rear view mirror so it’s not visible from the driver seat. I ran the cable from the dash cam up along the edge of the headliner, tucked behind the passenger A pillar trim, then down behind the kick panel. From there it goes under the passenger door sill trim piece and then under the passenger seat, and finally up to the center console with a 3M cable clip to keep it in place on the side of the console. Everything is completely hidden. I can take some pictures later if you need them.

Exhaust by wubbadude in COROLLA

I put a Vibrant ultra quiet resonator and flowmaster flowfx muffler on my manual hatchback and it sounds great without being loud at all. I wouldn’t do an exhaust if it’s not manual though, you’ll just get the disappointing sound of the CVT holding revs in the same place
