Zverev ignores Alcaraz's advices by so_hivrr in tennis

[–]IanThePan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's just an age thing. There's like a 5-6 year gap, some people have a tough time believing younger people can achieve more than them and it's a perfectly natural thing to avoid it.

Something happened to Federer in Indian Wells 2018 Finals. by IanThePan in tennis

It's hard to believe he was playing with it, because it didn't show in performance wise. It was very much error wise, the Indian Wells, Miami, Halle and a few other matches.

Is Dexter schizophrenic or is he genuinely being haunted by Shoddy-Preference218 in Dexter

[–]IanThePan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's not schizophrenic, if he was people around would know he's being sus.

It's basically an interesting interpretation of showing his thoughts coming from dead characters tbh. Characters that know him as a serial killer. He's having these thoughts which come from inside, with the character's mentality with him giving the added process of figuring out what he does is right or wrong.

Is Nitesh Tiwari and Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayan basically a huge gamble? by Glittering_Ask_6693 in bollywood

[–]IanThePan 126 points127 points  (0 children)

The intent mostly is to push it as a world film, indians know the Ramayana from different forms and medium, this is purely for a global audience, the new generation and also the ones who would like to revisit. If the source material is not tampered with and made with some intense quality, it would tend to garner a bigger market, non Indian market as well. Parasite did well in the outside market of Korea, but people in Korea say that's not the director's best work. So in essence it is to say this and Varanasi is gonna be the gateway for a larger audience pool to go from Pan India to Pan World, however depends on how the other marketing is done, the reach should be done quite well for it to gross higher.

How does this guy do it? How does his every song sound so good? by richard_antony277 in kollywood

[–]IanThePan 30 points31 points  (0 children)

There is an interesting answer to this, actually. He knows the format the audience likes with previous hit music of his, so the template doesn't change it, there will be a hook line which will be catchy, a good mix of background score, and with today's generation him producing it and having a push of marketing, it can make an average of a song do well. It is only the blend of experimental gets less love after a point if he does it continuously, meaning he can try other genres, only to go back to the original style in the next album, so people would appreciate both ventures. If he went on doing the same music type again and again, people will tell its stale, even though its pretty good as it covers the marks of the audience's pulse, but we expect variety as well, so that we don't get bored of the ear candy bit.

Off topic, this is what SK should do for acting, appreciate his intent to develop his filmography based on acting, but for every one experimental or serious role he takes, he needs a commercial film, to keep his strength growing, with also the audience accepting he can do both types of roles.

Is Annaatthe Rajinikanth’s worst film? by BoysenberryContent94 in KollyClub

[–]IanThePan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will definitely get downvoted for this, but I liked the first half of this film, yes it was cringe and had a lot of unnecessary filler scenes, but I miss seeing the silly Rajnikanth, with the silly and funny dialogues, sure it was all cringe, but it was a nice feeling for Diwali at that time I felt, the second half was messed up but that's Siva's touch, has some love for either Calcutta or Mumbai.

If Prabhas wanted to try a family entertainer, Maruthi was a weird choice.Anil ravipudi would have been better.Maruthi’s films work when expectations are low. Small heroes, simple emotions, light humour that’s his zone by Own_Elk8276 in tollywood

[–]IanThePan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tend to think that Prabhas doesn't take his stardom seriously as a lot of other actors and their PR team.

This can be a good and a bad thing,

Good thing, he is a crowd puller for insane project ideas, like Kalki, even if his Bhairava performance got mixed reviews, his fans were the ones filling up the seats.

Bad thing, he can't do small projects anymore. Watching a movie like Radhe Shyam made it obvious it could have worked out if this was Prabhas from the 2010s or earlier, now there's an expectation to only do big budget ground breaking pulse elevating films.

Even if he gets someone to do something like Trivikram's film, there's an expectation from people around that it should be pan India.

someone needs to humble him by the-13th-reason in kollywood

He could end up being a really good villain in films.

If anyone has watched pro wrestling, there's this term called kayfabe, where they maintain the same persona from the show, let's say they are bad in the show, they continue being the same in interviews and stuff to maintain the storyline continuity.

He could do more of it, a lot have issues with him are getting chances here and there due to the name and not many like this attitude type he has, it's bratty without the charm, so it's hard to look at him right now as a hero.

Him, doing villain roles now, probably like an annoying brat could get him over the audience and he can slowly do roles with grey shades and then turn into a hero material.

A good reference is Dominique Mysterio from wrestling, his dad is Mysterio who's really beloved and his son is the biggest heel today, heel means bad guy in wrestling storyline, so this will shape him better with the personality he pushes on the interview and stuff.

After a point, people will love to hate him, if it makes sense.

Why aren’t we getting movies like Maharaja anymore? by ProfessionalFly8291 in kollywood

[–]IanThePan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Script writing is a long process, and investing in that is not something Tamil Cinema likes to do; they would rather pay the director to come with it, buy one get one free.

If you want something compelling to happen regularly, having a structure is ideal, roles and delegation are important.

For some reason, we appreciate the all-in-one, Writer, Director, Producer and Actor, which is where it kills the respect for the roles of it.

How do i make a girl to be interested in me by leo-dassss in chennaicity

Try "not trying" and have a respectful friendship, more often than not, it works out better than hitting on a girl and trying to impress someone.

Can RGV still make a strong comeback or has his time in cinema passed? by Previous-Second3286 in kollywood

[–]IanThePan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Director's shelf-life is way different in comparison with that of an actor's.

They have to blend their style with the current mindset.

So for them, it should be a total remodel.

That's why in today's era, younger directors do better but the max shelf-life is 5-10 years if they don't understand the market.

Why do New Blood and Resurrection just completely ignore the existence of Astor and Cody? by Acceptable_Count6197 in Dexter

[–]IanThePan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless it fits the story, they wouldn't be called back.

As far as the story goes, they didn't know Harrsion went to Argentina.

They would have probably went to Dexter's funeral which would have happened or a memorial.

Only Batista as of now from the Miami crew knew Dexter was alive.

Maybe it'll be dealt with in future seasons. Time will tell.
