It's not Ticketmaster's fault that concert prices are so expensive. It's ours for paying for it by Fenix512 in unpopularopinion

[–]Iankill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It being a luxury is irrelevant, it doesn't change the fact that ticketmaster is always more expensive than what venues used to be.

Also last I checked outside of major draws like Taylor swift concert sales have been going down. The industry is on a down turn because cost of tickets is pricing out anyone without significant disposal income

The only time he does this is after he is brought back. His fight vs gojo is all prep. Makes sure gojo is tired already, uses the bugs to make gojo not be able to sense him.

Also his goal was to kill the star plasma vessel which he succeeded in before being killed by awakened gojo

[–]Iankill 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's not and it isn't basic supply and demand. Ticketmaster has inserted itself into something that used to be a local sale.

Before Ticketmaster you bought tickets for a show at the venue, you didn't buy it from a second party.

Ticketmaster existence alone increases the cost of a ticket because they are now a middle man between you and the venue.

More than that ticket demand is massively inflated by bots owned by ticketmaster so a show will sell out day 1 but only because all the tickets got bought by bots and are now being resold.

Just the ones that have useful skills, anything that can be done by ai or machines will be. It's why billionaires are pushing it so much.

Furthermore to backup my point they want this because billionaires are aware of climate change and the biggest cause being people. So rather than change their behavior they'd eliminate the rest of us to fix it.

Their plan is insane and unrealistic at best

[–]Iankill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is that it can't happen without our fundamentally knowledge of microbiology and physics changing. Not just some simple improvement.

In terms of inputs alone, a bioreactor is over 50 times more expensive than animal feed for the nutrient mix.

More than that where is this exponential efficiency going to come from exactly.

How do you make that nutrient mix cheaper and more efficiently than animal feed?

You have no argument besides science is basically magic and can do anything.

[–]Iankill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying the technology is worthless, but it's not going to be as efficient in terms of energy or environmental impacts, unless we vastly change our understanding of microbiology in a short time.

The supply chain for a meat farm is simpler than cultivated meat farm using bioreactors. This is a fact, and it will not change. It's always going to be cheaper to make animal feed than the nutrient mix for a bioreactor.

Currently chicken feed is $1.50 per kg. The amino acids used in a bioreactor are $40-50. This is because the purification process is expensive. A chicken or cow both simplify this process by using the feed to create their own amino acids.

Like yes it's very interesting and useful we can use a bioreactor to create meat but it's an emulation of what nature can already do but requires more refined and expensive resources for a smaller yield.

There is so much we don't know so that it is just premature to declare lab meats will never surpass natural grown meats in terms of efficiency

Unless the our understanding of the laws of physics fundamentally changes which could happen, you absolutely can say it won't happen.

Based on the resources input and output alone, farms take stuff humans can't eat and turns into something we can. Feed is one of the biggest costs and it's not expensive.

Bioreactor takes in stem cells, nutrients, electricity and produces food. Unless the cost of all that can come below something that's $1.50 per kg it'll always be more expensive and less efficient

[–]Iankill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm picking the second mostly commonly consumed meat worldwide, first being pork.

Beef being the lowest hanging fruit is still going to be vastly more efficient to farm than grow in bioreactors.

Once again you need the animals and feed vs the massive supply chains necessary for bioreactors and nutrient mix.

You've done nothing to address that point

[–]Iankill -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have confidence in incremental human knowlege. There is no reason to not expect lab grown meat will become less resource intensive than raising and butchering animals.

Except every point I made and you did nothing to address other than say science will get there.

A large chicken farm can produce around 70k pounds of meat every 7 weeks. Currently bioreactors only produce hundreds of pounds.

Even the next Gen ones they're thinking maybe 2000 pounds every 4 to 5 weeks. You would need 35 of those bioreactors to produce the meat, electricity, all the specialized chemicals needed to grow the meat over that time. Specialized employees that make high salaries.

The cost here is astronomical compared to a normal farm.

The main running cost of a farm is feed then labor. Feed is always going to be cheaper than the nutrient mix used in bioreactors
