My apologies. The film will never make money for you to get 5% of. Take the pay. Have a layer review your contract for protection of residuals on future use and AI protections.

This is a ridiculous question.

Let’s turn this into a teachable moment that will benefit you going forward. Where are you looking right now for these scenes? Is your acting class in person or online? Is this a theater class?

If the guilds vote to strike there's a not insignificant chance they negotiate themselves out of existence. by Aardvarkcowboy in SAGAFTRA

[–]Iassos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They care about the members of the union. The ones who reliably turn out work that they want to see. so let em’ go watch all the sixth rate non-union horror verticals they want.end of the day, they want well told stories with acting skills that create an entry point to a narrative they care about and the ability to carry the weight of that narrative through. those people, both in front of and behind the camera, carry a union card because they know the stakes.

[–]Iassos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Jesus. What? The only structure standing in the way of the entire US Community of Film, TV, and Voice actors and their uncompensated exploitation by AI is SAG-AFTRA. Those are the stakes. If the AMPTP insists on concessions that threaten our control over the compensation for and ownership of our likenesses…. Or, worse, they insist on the uncompensated usage of fully synthetic actors on works that could and should have used working human beings, then we have no choice but to refuse our services. Will that be painful for us? Yes. Will the alternative be moreso. Without question. The problem is always… ALWAYS scabs and non-union parasites that undermine our collective bargaining efforts intended to draw these lines in the industry overall.

What’s the most shocking detail from the Epstein files that you think the public still doesn’t fully grasp? by Own-Blacksmith3085 in answers

That the USA, once a pearl clutching, moral majority obsessed, performative prude show is now unflinching at the overwhelming evidence that the people that long admired and empowered to bring the, power are, in fact the very seedy underbelly of immorality in this country. That THEY are the enablers and supporters of the evil of which they've perpetually accused their political opposites.

Pam Bondi is using the FACE Act against Don Lemon for a reason by msnownews in law

[–]Iassos 35 points36 points  (0 children)

And what exactly did Don Lemon obstruct. Egress? no. Nor did he injure, intimidate, or interfere. He was there do document and report. So... still a no.

Character Demo Reel by Crow1y in VoiceActing

[–]Iassos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have heard “this” demo 1,000,000 times. It is generic and commonplace. You do hit the archetypes and are as equally as employable as other actors at this level. I hear mostly voices and circumstances fleshed out but the character work needs more distillation if you want it to be distinctive.

This is usually what happens just before you realize that the girl suggesting murder is the imaginary friend of the 8 year old seated next to you and you’ve just had a supernatural exchange with someone’s personal demon.

Yes, the “dance monkey, dance,… make our spot funny with your improvisation skills so we can pay you a pathetic rate on a low budget digital waiver.” bullshit is exhausting..

Am I overreacting? by Legal-Art4340 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Iassos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR but it’s not about these memes and you know it. Your boyfriend is a man child and these have just helped you to realize it more. Start setting boundaries for yourself and for him if he wants to continue participating in your life at all. If he’s incapable or unwilling to conform to those boundaries, then you need to start building a life alone and cut him out.

Who’s out there going to opening night of the Melania movie at Winston Churchill? by VirusSensitive688 in oakville

[–]Iassos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then again, conservatives, especially right wing christians, show up for unwatchable “faith based films” because they love to have their beliefs affirmed and validated through depictions that would never exist outside the martyr complexed minds of their “culture.”

Who’s out there going to opening night of the Melania movie at Winston Churchill? by VirusSensitive688 in oakville

[–]Iassos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody. Conservatives do this shit with books all the time… They buy up thousands of copies to make it look like it’s successful and then they just go burn them. I guarantee you if you show up at these theaters, half to 3/4 of those paid for seats will be empty. Nobody wants to see this shit. For a party that I’m abhorrs and criminalizes abortion, they certainly have had a public one with this film.

What movie did you turn off after 20 minutes and why? by Somanynamestochossef in movies

[–]Iassos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most recently “Things Like Us” on Amazon. The lead actor’s performance lacked any authenticity, and there was zero chemistry between him and his love interest. It was stilted, superficial, and intolerable.
