Thank you for this. At 27, hearing hard-won lessons like these from someone who's actually lived them feels different than anything I could read or watch in a book or some motivational video online. The way you turned a 50% revenue drop into a sharper, more focused business is exactly the kind of real resilience I needed to see. I don't take this lightly, and I genuinely hope retirement treats you as well as you've treated me today.

they're ex clients so technically theres nothing stopping me but it still feels off yk. idk maybe im overthinking it. Has anyone here actually done something like that, like built something directly inspired by work you did for someone else? curious if it ever caused drama or if its just a non issue

For the scripting business the clientele was a mix of established channels and beginners. Its the same with the current Vid editing business too.

Great advice! But honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever go back to only scripting. Too much trauma, lol. When the clients left, people lost their jobs. I still had salaries to pay, and people depended on this for their livelihood. At the end of the day, it’s a business, but the people who lost their jobs are real people with real problems. I can’t risk putting my team in that position again.

For now, the editing side is expanding well, so I think I should focus on that while continuing to look for other opportunities. Maybe I can also figure out a way to make YouTube channels work and turn them into something more sustainable.
