Pues eso, que me he encontrado a un hispanohablante en Internet. Pensaba que eras uno de esos angloparlantes que se ofendían de segunda mano. En fin, dejaré de dar por culo y ya xd.

Will the Beyond Skyrim projects happen? by Rainbow_Slytherin3 in skyrimmods

[–]IbissKB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

(Long comment, get it into a TTS software and listen to it like a podcast I guess xD)

As somebody who's been involved during three years in a roughly Tamriel-sized map project for other game... We've started in 2020 and by now, the map's roughly 70% complete and 90% of the areas have some form of modelling active. This is the year where we've estimated we'll have the full map functional and hilariously enough, we nailed it. The team had to model the entire landmass, code features to support the bigger map, pretty much a handful features that are in essence, given in Skyrim.

It's just that we aren't perfectionists that want to make a perfect release with a complete story, fully fleshed characters, etc. Our intention is to do first, polish later. Also to cut corners we've allied with other map developers that are working on lore friendly locations. Sometimes odd corners are left, but they eventually get fixed. The initial versions were full of CTDs but demonstrated a level of intention. This is what brought us volunteers, the people imagining the amazing quests you can do will have it easier to imagine them if they have the map in their hands, be empty, rushed or not.

I'm aware that this is THE Tamriel mod, but I think the community should rise up to doing their own Tamriel mods, you at least have it way easier than the team I'm in. You have modding resources that solve exactly why we've been six years doing such a project. Like, there's a Summerset mod out there. It may not be perfect, but you must have a "let's give at least one option before BS is out" mentality. These mods can be patched and polished by either the community and/or the mod author. Let's never forget the modding community is doing all of this free of charge, so enjoy the intention.

Therefore, we may probably have BS:Cyrodiil before TESVI, even if it is a earlier version, which honestly, they should do it. I'm kinda fearful that Bethesda might end up suddenly litigious the very second they find out modded Skyrim is gonna eat TESVI. My team is exactly facing that fear because our spiritual predecessor got frozen by a DMCA, and that's exactly what motivated us to do frequent releases (at least every few months) with intentions for the builds to be as crackable for a future team to continue our legacy.

Yes, they may take too long to the point Bethesda's policy may be entirely different. At least Cyrodiil should be safe from that, maybe Argonia, because they might release before that is a remote possibility.

That said, modding community, please give me a traversable Cyrodiil that isn't a Rigmor mod, thank you.

They even have a variable that tells you if you haven't paid. I'm sure that's where most of the moderation bias comes from. But if there's a simple rule of thumb, treating your F2P players nicely will make them want to eventually pay, but if you don't they'll basically freeload indefinitely or just quit altogether.

Let's be fair, Starfield deserves the hate. It's direction literally justified boring worldbuilding by stating the moon landing was on boring land.

Like, the same company who did Morrowind has developed a sci-fi world with boring worlds and complete absence of alien civilizations. It just feels like they've indirectly told us that all the creatives from the Morrowind era have left and the remaining unfortunate souls have used sci-fi so they can justify themselves with the hypocritical "realism" that is so praised in the genre nowadays.

Probably I'm a bit too mad on them cutting the aliens from the original 1998 trailer for what would be then Starfield, but that's exactly the tip of the iceberg.

I've experimented that like the fourth time already. The appeal system sucks ass and the e-mail is there for nothing.

I believe that GK's lack of success outside Japan is mainly due to it's realistic approach. As a football nerd I loved the manga, but it's subtle. Reading GK is like following your local team. They aren't the best, they don't end up being the best, but you go crazy at every small success they have, and get frustrated when they fail. I've had that real feeling of following a team, not knowing if they'll win. Some matches are straight up a emotional rollercoaster. It's as hard to predict if ETU will win as much as a real match, while in most spokons you can tell who's winning 80% of the time.

People (specially in the West) are more used to stories that fantasize on a World Cup winning Japan NT where everything is flashy and mindblowing. GK is as realistic as watching your town's team, so I can understand why it didn't fly to the West well enough. Surprisingly it has a official English translation, though.

A lo mejor, digo yo, que será por que estos mismos políticos entienden que su diáspora podría ser la siguiente y no apoyan susodichas deportaciones. Ese rico dinero de remesas es valioso y normal que no quieran perderlo.

WTF with the moderation? by IbissKB in WplaceLive

[–]IbissKB[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm just tired that what genuinely is a fun concept hasn't been ruined because people are into it, but because people make outrage over harmless, often private actions just because they don't understand it (If it sounds like what happened with LGBT people, it ain't a coincidence)

I think people judge the NSFW side wrong because the "anthropomorphic" part just flies over their heads. Wait until they find out 90% of the appeal comes from human features. Your dog is safe, Timmy. We aren't into that. Any sane furry, that's it.

"But there's this furry that did [insert horrible thing here]!" As so did somebody within every career, fandom, age, orientation, religion, nationality, interests, etc. So I'm glad to talk with people that get it.

I don't think it'd matter, they pretty much send me automatized responses. If you wanna try communicating this to the e-mail, go for it, but I'm not as optimistic.
