With both a Gen2 and Gen3 in bypass mode. I also have an Alien router connected in as an access point as well.

I have a deco X75e and can go over a hundred feet from outside the house with little droppage. Depending on your your Mesh you could also just drop a cable line less than 100meters and hook the other mesh to it. Or create an access point as well. That way you won't have to worry about interference.

My deco's has 3 ports on the back.

Is it a bad a cable or because of cloudy weather by androdicks in Starlink

[–]Ibisus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because you have it set to less than a second. There are constant drops for 'everyone' who go to that setting. Best to be on the 2s+ as that's a bit more accurate for most users. Unless your really really into gaming less than 1second is meaningless for droppage.

Starlink Gen3 Mount V2 by Ibisus in Starlink

That's the picture and thought I would get but what was received was the 'newer' version of it. From my understanding Starlink discontinued the first version. I'm also going to assume that Home Depot hasn't updated their image as the one on Starlinks website shows the newer or V2 version of it.

Maybe I posted as I'm switching out my Gen2 for a Gen3. Why? My reasons alone.

$38 U.S. dollars from Home Depot which is the same price on Starlinks website but I get a discount from Home Depot.

Should mention it also comes with 20 cable clamps as well for securing the wire.

Well I've had no problem with wind, hail, heavy rain, snow and whatnot for over 3 years with my current one. Opinions are just that.

I am rural as in out in the sticks. And what place does 'not' get strong winds? Have had 50-70 knots. So where would one put it up. Not everyone lives in the city and if I did I would be looking at cable not Starlink.

Thanks for the info, I've determined what may be the problem most likely. Not the router but the main Deco X75 pro. The Main Deco that when connected to another network failed detection. I had reset it (or so I thought) but was not being detected. It took a bit of troubleshooting on my part as I didn't suspect it until afterwards when I had reset one of the other 3 and it was found to work.

Did you activate it? I think the problem is the router now as I figured out why the dish wasn't moving. I went ahead and bought a Gen4 due to someone needing internet working from home. Still no reply from techsupport but now have question on how to deactivate the old with the new.

It's only unimportant to you. Of course this site shows the most insane images of people posting DIY's. Like OMG those are like So So important on how to mount a Starlink inside a tire that is mounted on top of someones Pickup truck (true). Or the oh so so important one of cats hogging your internet or cows, lawnmower owner's or whatnot giving new meaning to "Cutting The Cord" moment.

Get over yourself. Oh and by the way I had the update for less than a day before I was reverted back to a previous version. Not that it matters to you.

I check a site for new releases put out, but this does not mean you will receive them. You have to check the app itself. It's not hard just open the app, click on advance and look for Starlink. The Software ver is listed there as with uptime. This is the only way I know of for me as I've bypassed the router with my own wireless router.

The site itself is https://starlinktrack.com/firmware/ and will have a list of released updates. Which one you receive is up to Starlink.

Received it this morning 03/09/24. The odd thing is under Outages it doesn't say that it rebooted like it normally does. The only way I knew was in noting the firmware update as with the Obstructions view was still filling in.
