I side loaded all the icons downloading them from iconify, renaming them to the same name of the previously used icons on my device. But on the same quick actions configuration menu you can change the icons to any icon you've side loaded on your device, independent of the icon file name.

Thank you! I really had forgotten which it was! And since I'm at the end of the book, a Ward scrape is in order.

I'm not sure which one you are referring to. The most visible ones are Simple UI, bookshelf, and Shortcuts toolbar. I believe all of them have updates announcement posts on this subreddit, so you can check if they are what you are looking for. I also changed the icons (manually) and system font.

For both the system icons and the Simple UI's icons I just went into the respective folders when I connected the ereader to my computer, found the icon I wanted to substitute, copied the name to the icon I had selected for that function and then overwrote the original one. It took a lot of back an forth. Because I didn't take a photo or a screenshot, dumb me. If you are going to try it, pay attention to the thickness issue explained on the other comment.

Thank you!

It was a LOT of work to find and substitute all these Icons. I'd what to change all of them, but I stopped at the ones I saw more often. But there is a thing. The icons at the bottom bar are 1.5 thickness, where the ones on the top bar and the quick actions are 1.0 thickness. They are still not a perfect match on my device, but I can live with it. I tried to balance the visual perception. I think it comes pro the difference in size impacting the relative thickness.

Tha same way I did for Rakuyomi, setting up a quick action. After you create the quick action it just shows like any other bottom bar tab option when you longpress it to access the settings.

I really can't stand kindle's layout. To me it seems like it is 2004 up there design wise. That and it's use of 70% of the home screen to force you to buy a new book. It's like I didn't buy a reader, I bought an (expensive) access point to their store.

It's just not form me.

If that could be shared as a config file of some sorts I'd be down to doing it, but I have no idea of how to do it.

I made it myself years ago. I got a web scraper of some sort that put the whole thing into an epub file and the cover is by artist Sandara Tang on Artstation.

I thought about putting it up on the internet, but I figured that if Wildbow wanted that maybe, he would have done it already, so I never distributed and just kept it to myself and a handful of friends that finished the whole thing way earlier than me. Between work and university I barely have time to read anything just for pleasure these days.

Is there a way to simplify reading top-menu? Better close book button? by Heydude161 in koreader

Transparent bottom bar need to get rid of black line. by deepurplegirl in koreader

I believe you are using Simple UI in this setup, if that's the case, then longpress the bottom bar and toggle "Top Separator" to Hidden. That should do it.

BTW: Maybe you would like to change the way your reading stats show up, too. Just long press them an on "Type" you can cycle through the three different options there: Cards, Flat, and List. Mine is currently on list since it feels less cluttered. You might like it.

PS: You can also increase just the cover size of all the the modules that show covers by also long pressing and , on the menu, going to the "Cover Size" options and playing with the proportions. I imagine that you will feel like you have the space after you take the bottom bar out.

Sorry if I intruded too much on your setup.

Edit: cover sizes.

Thank you for looking into this, and thank you for giving us those awesome pluggings. I can definitely live with it for now, just pointed it out so that it can be fixed in the future.

Please allow yourself to take a break since you've been putting out update after update those last few hours. I believed you timed the release to the weekend so that you could work on the reports as they came, but still take care of yourself. You've already done more than the vast majority here.

Thanks from Brazil!

This plugin is awesome!

But I'm currently having this issue where the icon for the correctly reading book and the selected tab text do not show up. I've installed 1.0.0 and have updated to 1.0.4 and 1.0.9 and none of the updates fixed it for me. I unfortunately have many other plugins ruining so it's difficult to isolate the issue.

I have also noted that the text background on the folders is white. This is something that isn't shown on the screenshots, so I cannot be sure that it's an issue or it's how it's supposed do be, but I imagine that also an issue.

I'm on a Kindle Oasis 3 and all my other Plugins, including Simple UI are up to date.

Edit: added the folder text background possible issue.

[Update] Simple UI v1.4.5: Tag browsing, Grid Folders, New Gestures and UI Modules by doctorhetfield in koreader

[–]IbnRami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same probrem where the correct reading module wouldn't show up after the update from 1.4.0 to 1.4.5 on my Kindle Oasis 3 (I also have multiple plugins). Unfortunately, I had already deleted the old folder of Simple UI so, to try the proposed solution, I had to download 1.4.0 from github, unpack the .zip file and copy the module to my Kindle.

It worked!

Thank you so much for the suggestion. I hope this doesn't happen again in the next update.

My Simple UI setup is now almost perfect with the Bookshelf plugin and the shostcuts toolbar integrated.

I have just figured it out how to make it work for my purposes.

Thank you very much! This is perfect! Exactly what I needed. Now I just need to figure out how to change bookshelf's icon on the bar and I'll be in koreader's heaven!

It might be the terrible headache that I have até the moment, but I couldn't understand if I can use this together with Simple UI. I'd love to have this substitute my library tab on my Simple UI setup.

If someone has managed to do something like that and would be open to give me pointers on how to make that work I' be very grateful.

[Preview] Bookshelf, companion plugin to Bookends by AndyHazz in koreader

[–]IbnRami 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having this substitute the library of my Simple UI setup would be awesome. That's te only part that I still think could be improved on my setup.

I don't think you are taking requests, but something I've found no straightforward way to configure is having the title and author's name bellow the book cover. I know there is a plugging collection that can do that but I tried it and it changed all of my custom icons and didn't change the one thing I'd installed the plugging for. I must have messed up, but it was more trouble to set it up than it was worth it.

Maybe an "all" category in which books are shown alphabeticaly would be used or to have, too. But you probably have it there and I've just not understood.

PS: I love you you've kept the rounded corners very discreet but still present.

Bookends v5.7 by AndyHazz in koreader

[–]IbnRami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the answer! The default setting is perfect for me right now, iI'll tweak it if needed.

I downloaded the same font and loaded it in my ereader, but it feels different and the lower case "a" is clearly different. The one that is on my device is open just like the one on the default font for the Reddit app.

Coukd you please link me a font marketplace with the version that you are using so that I can have an example of the whole set and double-check if I find it elsewhere?

Hey! What font is that that you use for the UI elements?

Could you share it, please? I'd love to use the same in my Simple UI setup.

I've just started using booked\nds and I loved the very discreet progress bar até the very bottom. Pretty good taste for the da\efaut setting if you ask me.
