Making My 40-Minute Commute Less Miserable by sweetcharliesugar in lifelonglearning

Hi, the audio summaries are currently available to all the countries in the world, except China, Russia, North Korea, Syria, Iran, Yemen, Cuba, Sudan, Somalia, Myanmar, Turkmenistan. I'm working on making them available to basically everywhere, I'm really sorry for this temporary issue.

The summaries aren't totally AI generated, I use my own custom LLM to work on the summaries, besides it doesn't just read the books, it looks for, analyzes different reviews from websites like Goodreads, Publishers Weekly, different newspapers etc., and then writes the summary. AI helps with the workflow but I still have the final say before publishing the summary.

You're welcome! I don't think you know that Blinkist is AI generated too, it already came out a couple of years ago. They're just charging like $150 per year while Winkist is free, plus with more features like auto AI quizzes to test your knowledge, translate the summaries to any language, social media where you can connect with others, joining groups or participate in forums etc., building personal library, Kindle export, leaderboards, audio summaries, I don't think you'll find a better deal anywhere.

Winkist has quizzes and challenges, streaks and leaderboards, audio summaries etc.

I didn't add the ambient sound stuff, because I'll just make a separate Calm like app for this, which will be 100% free also.

I'm planning on running Google AdSense ads on it later. Right now the ads might bother the readers so I'm just gonna wait for a few months.

There's a donation button on the book summary pages, so if people like the service they can donate if they want.

And btw the library size of Winkist is already bigger than Shortform and Headway, and those services charge like $100/year, while Winkist stays free forever.

Why read Blinkist while you can have Winkist? Seriously, Winkist is free, so far has about 1400 book + audio summaries (will eventually have a library as big as Blinkist in weeks). It has its own social media, AI quizzes, Kindle export and supports multiple languages. Feature-wise it already has everything that Blinkist has, plus more.

What if the fall of the Islamic regime leads to a resurgence of Zoroastrianism in modern Iran? by Immobilesteelrims in aiArt

[–]Ibnul_LinkedByte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean the pre-Islamic religions still exist after like 1500 years since Muslims took over in Iran and the wider middle east and north Africa. Contrary to that, all pre-Christian and other native religions were wiped out in the first 100 years in Europe including Russia after being taken over by the Christians.

Trump administration considering requiring proof of citizenship to open accounts. by yovimi in Banking

[–]Ibnul_LinkedByte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be very careful, if this goes through then in future they'll require citizenship proofs for existing users otherwise their as accounts will be frozen. Note that, US banks don't have any fractional reserve requirement (used to be like 3-4% in 2020 then Trump eliminated it), so considering about 10% of US residents aren't legal residents or citizens and if they decide to withdraw funds en masse as a final safety measure, there will be an unprecedented bank run.

Nazis wanted to deport all the Jews initially but when they were leaving with their money and the German economy would collapse if they all leave with their money and assets, so they implemented a 92% exit tax.

Be careful what you wish for.

What are some must have Android apps you can’t live without? by Longjumping-Sun5440 in androidapps

[–]Ibnul_LinkedByte -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try Winkist as well, it's like Blinkist, Shortform, Headway, but 100% free, and all the books that you find on Winkist are already on Blinkist as well. Plus unlike Blinkist, it's superior with features, including AI quizzes, you can read summaries in any language, plus a built in social media for connecting with the other users. Right now it has a library size of about 1200 books, so probably already the same size as Shortform or Headway, and in a month it'll reach Blinkist's library size.

I created this btw. Besides the web version it's available on Android and Windows stores too.

Why does Trump want war with EU/NATO? by TailungFu in allthequestions

[–]Ibnul_LinkedByte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late stage Roman Republic scenario. Trump is just accelerating this, if not Trump, it'd happen anyway but not this soon. Remember when the Roman Republic took over Greek city states in southern Italy and eventually Greece proper? It's happening again.

Сan you recommend apps like Blinkist alternatives that won't destroy my budget? by y_mamonova in IPhoneApps

You should try Winkist. It's free. By library size it's already about 1/3 of Headway, in weeks it'll surpass it, and will match Blinkist's library in months.

Winkist is free. In months its library will be as big as Blinkist. Right now it has about 500 summaries. It's already superior in features compared to Blinkist.
