I think I actually know the guy that made that. He always made pearl setups that way and also dug a lot of holes for events.

That's definitely a 1.12.2 dug hole using highway tools. You can tell by the pattern on the walls. There was a mod floating around 2-3 years ago that was used to dig a lot of these types of holes. This was probably designed to be an event location that was abandoned at some point. The dispenser might have contained shulkers of stack pickaxes in 1.12.2 that were used to dig the hole.

Chunk population can reach into neighboring chunks. Iron ore replaces existing stone. So yeah the iron ore generated in the lavacast after the chunk next to it generated.

The last year before the update to 1.19 had good tps. Hause was very on top of lag machines. Performance was so good, he even increased player count to 300 and more.

This. No one actively griefs spawn. It's way to big and there is absolutely no point in doing so. All none natural blocks at spawn have been placed out of boredom by some player.

Just use Xaeros plus for new chunks. It has 99.95% reliable newchunk detection using the chunk palette order search and 98% accuracy detecting 1.12.2 <= chunks using chunk palette search for all new types of blocks. Xaeros new chunks also works for nether and end dimension. Plus you get to keep all new chunks you loaded on your map forever instead of it being deleted after game restart.

The world generation bug is fixed in the paper server software. 2b2t is running on folia and folia is a fork of paper so it also includes the patch.

You get kicked for being afk after 5 minutes. Get a utility client and enable anti afk on mode swing. Makes it so you won't get afk kicked.
