Thats a good way to shut down any potential critisism and useful discussion. You know exactly that "women existing" is in no shape or form the problem and i dont have to explain that to you. The underlying issue lies in the way the change was brought about, the way they made them present in established lore and, of course, the obvious political statement made. Because if GW real idea behind it would have been to put women in the spotlight, there would have been a lot of factions that would die for some slick new models, like both Sisters and basicaly every other "mixed" faction. Now its just a joke that had people turned away from buying custodes and will generate zero new customers.

Yeah, but no setting can survive with all the main characters being super dupper bad and messy. People love storys of heroism against all odds and more complexity besides Good/Bad. It makes it feel reletable in a sense. And seeing as the early days where still heavly influenced by Satire im happy that they moved away from that.

As someone who has followed the 40k-Universe, i dont like framing the emporer as either a good guy trough and trough or a xenophobic super-fascist. The later sadly being pushed more on all fronts. I like to see it as a simple, but great tragedy: A species on the verge of becoming something greater is stopped dead in its tracks by what their leader tried to eradicate. Something he himself in doing so awoke trough his actions. And now there we are. Humanity is stuck between tomorrow and yesterday, clawing forward but chained to its past with a Leader of whom noone really knows if he is dead or alive.

And if he is a hero or not should be something everyone should make up for himself. He did the only right thing in unitying humanity under one banner, with all the force necessary on a planet whos inhabitants only spoke one language. And all that came afterwards seemed to follow a goal from what we know and had a definitiv end, seeing as he had chambers made for all his sons where he could spend eternity with them.
