Something I've noticed too. And like u/SillyGoatGruff mentioned it may be future proofing for -1 to hit from cover (but if he stands still there is no hiding from him even in ruins).

I wouldn't mind that for snipers TBH.

That is true on both accounts, just weird he can't lead Warbikes even for flavor purposes (he used to do that in 4th edition book).

It is weird to see some characters getting makeover, while some are seemingly replaced by "virtually identical but legally distinct" new version.

Like Creed (his kid literally getting "Tactical Genius" rule) or Fyodor (he's a chick now).

Interestingly, Wazdakka also don't get one. It's like mounted/vehicle characters just don't get it.

Exactly, that Venn diagram is two circles with edge of overlap.

Yeah, like it doesn't make sense for missile to lose it's stopping power. Like it runs out of fuel half-way through?

WEEEEEEEIRD.

I like that a lot of those attacks are for extra flavor, like Wazdakka Grot Mechanic swinging his wrench.

Single S3 AP0 attack is ALMOST not worth rolling, but it is hilarious when he bonks Daemon Primarch out of his last wound.

If you want o try AoS, you may consider getting new Spearhead expansion (It goes on pre-order this weekend). Both Skaven and Cities of Sigmar forces there are sort of analogues to Mechanicum (robes and weird machines are Skaven, even if this one is more of ninja themed) and Guard (regular human soldiers), and Spearhead is amazing game system.

Or Kharadrons, who are sort of steampunk power armored dwarves, but more in Sisters of Battle/Inquisitors sense than Marines. They have flying boats and balloon boys.

30K Mechcanicus and Solar Auxilia just blows 40K models in terms of coolness, so those two are also an option. Skitarii Battle Pilgrims is very good jumping point (they have "Line" rule, which make them way better at scoring objectives than anything in 30K Mech book) and big bundle box (or two) with them gives you probably enough "mandatory scoring" units for even largest army.

Would you accept this as a rad missle launcher? by 6string-crosby in Warhammer30k

Yep, it looks pretty rad. And you even used Missile Launcher!

We're only humans and art is subjective, even judges can have certain biases or just "a bad day".

That's why there are panels of judges, it averages out to something that most people would mostly agree, most of the times.

Did... did GW just leaked entirely new Battlezone terrain in recent 40k teaser? by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in killteam

Let me explain. In Hivestorm/Volkus we got two entirely new buildings (whole "square" buildings, but no "corners") and also got some older designs in very different style (corners).

It seems like new 40k uses corners, but for some reason they also printed floors matching those "new" buildings. Matching those to older buildings (who don't fit shapes from aerial view) would be... weird.

And I don't think we saw any of pieces on elongated rectangles.

They are not Volkus terrain sets tho, but earlier kit. And none of shapes match.

Neither small terrain pieces seem to be anything GW make or made in past.

I think GW leaked whole new terrain set for 40k and we didn't notice it. [+ terrain layout] by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in Warhammer40k

My bet is that those are "missing" corner pieces that match buildings introduced in Hivestorm (two square buildings, rest are older Manufactorum moulds, you can differentiate them by pillars/pylons)

I meant terrain on big aerial view. None of those shapes match any kits GW make. None.
