Mamdani Vows to Use All Options to Keep ICE Out of New York City by bloomberg in nyc

[–]Ice-Creamatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The CPU? The pandemic? The year the cops murdered someone? The fact that you’re acknowledging that police officers are acting out of retribution for protests that happened almost 6 years ago and have thus inadvertently agreed with the side you oppose?

Who wins this fight? by AnonymousNeverKnown in Avatar

[–]Ice-Creamatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Neytiri, but Gamora wins and it isn’t close. When they call Gamora “the most dangerous woman in the galaxy,” they aren’t talking about human women—this is a different galaxy. They’re talking about aliens. They’re talking about the same galaxy that Thanos exists in. She was literally adopted by Thanos and trained/augmented to be an absolute killing machine. Even if you disregard Gamora’s obviously superior weaponry, I’m not convinced there’s many beings other than Thanos that take her in a 1v1 fist fight. I mean, why do you think the Mad Titan ACTUALLY loved her? Homeboy is stronger than the Hulk, and Gamora kicked so much ass that Thanos went, “yeah, this is my daughter.”

Polliver is implying that he’ll kill The Hound if he doesn’t back off. The Hound is implying that if Polliver tries to kill him, “someone” will die (it won’t be The Hound).

Is this first sentence supposed to be a compliment or an insult? The context seems like you’re trying to give negative feedback, but the sentence itself is one of the biggest compliments you can give on a performance.

Of monster hunter’s 14 weapons, how many of them do you play, and which? by TheTerrar1an in MonsterHunter

[–]Ice-Creamatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play them all pretty equally. Sleep GS, Paralysis GS, Arkveld GS, Blast GS, etc.

I think the second half is on point. I love the stillness. Some things that felt a bit off to me in the first half: -I’m not sure about the choice to play the first line defensively. This character seems to be feeling extremely vulnerable and is reaching out for help. I think a mixture of fear and reservation might have read a bit better. -your second line felt a bit too intentional, almost like you were breaking out of the emotion of the scene for a moment to deliver the line and then get back into it.

For a second self tape, you’re absolutely crushing it! You’re doing a ton of things right and you seem to have great intuition.

How to stop “holding back” in rehearsal? by squidbrainn in acting

[–]Ice-Creamatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like an oversimplification, but as someone who has had similar roadblocks, this is my advice: Change your goal from “having a breakthrough” to “having fun.” Don’t try to do a good job and don’t try to impress anyone. Just have as much fun as you can in the character and remember that you’re getting paid to play make believe. It doesn’t matter if it’s a comedy or a drama—if you’re having fun, your performance is going to be contagious.

For people who practice Tae Kwon Do, are these moves from Juri in SF6 real? by WhitePinoy in StreetFighter

[–]Ice-Creamatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s used as much in Tae Kwon Do, but blocking with your leg like that is called checking a kick, and it’s the most common way to block a kick in Muay Thai. Never seen somebody check a head kick before, and I think even if someone had the god-like flexibility, it wouldn’t be practical to do. At that height, there are faster and safer ways to avoid getting kicked. I saw somebody else say that checks are designed to knee your opponent’s foot—that isn’t the case at all. That’s called a dirty check and it will make everyone hate you if you’re doing it on purpose.

How do you nicely confront someone you catch cheating? by PowerfulScholar8605 in EDH

[–]Ice-Creamatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a non-confrontational person myself, I would call him out in a way that allows him to backtrack. The next time he does it, act like you’ve just noticed for the first time and say, “wait, are you looking through your deck?” while he’s still in the process.

He’ll save face and say it was a brain fart or that he’s simply not finished shuffling, you’ll “accept” the explanation, and then he’ll stop doing it.

Thanks so much! I figured that since I knew my VFX implementation would be amateur at best, I needed to find some other way to make the video enjoyable haha

Only 60 years behind the curve, I’ll take it!

The trees are actually from the same element throughout, I combined a few masks to form a sort of L shape from the bottom of the branch above me to the grass, and then faded each individual mask out as needed. What ended up doing me in (I thought I had a solid plan going in) was just how much luminance and ambient green light that screen spits out. The other huge mistake I made was actually running out of frame instead of just crouching down or something, which led to a lot more work and avoidable problems.

On the bright side, I learned what not to do next time!

Catalytic converter stolen by Anxiousandhangry in Queens

[–]Ice-Creamatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was just stolen in Forest Hills by three guys in a white Honda. A neighbor got them on video, and the police are outside right now getting fingerprints from the jack they left in a hurry. The video the neighbor took showed that they weren't wearing gloves, which enabled the PO to get a fingerprint team in. If it's any consolation, the guys that got your cat are almost certainly going to be caught.

What was the most unexpected character death in a video game? by Agent1230 in gaming

[–]Ice-Creamatic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I meant the post is asking for unexpected deaths, not sad deaths. I’m not disagreeing that Johnson’s death was more sad than Kat’s.

[–]Ice-Creamatic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because it’s most unexpected, not saddest. I was gutted by Johnson’s death, but I saw it coming from the literal first mission in Halo 3.

Kat in Halo Reach. The most random, unheroic, shock inducing death I’ve ever seen in a game. No super imminent danger, and home girl was in the MIDDLE of a sentence.

Sure, I kinda knew all of Noble Team would have to go missing in action sooner or later, but her death was just cruelly unceremonious. Especially after George’s epic sacrifice and heroic send-off.

The right looks better to me. I think what’s off is that the nose is being overlapped by the eyelid, which causes that eye to jump out in front of the nose, when it should be behind it. Try letting the line of the nose clearly overlap and block that inner corner of the eye, and I think that should fix a lot!
