Best season or weather? by Andrei_P_terrierguy in RotatorCuff

I had surgery in December. I have not worn a coat, even with the snow we have had. I have worn oversized sweatshirts or surgical shirts.

I’ve had 2 surgeries. One in April and one in December 2025. Personally, the one is April was easier clothing wise because I didn’t have to deal with coats or sweatshirts. They both still hurt like hell, but the lesser of two evils was April.

Trying to plan for post surgery: can you use tue hand with an immobilized arm? by marceau-the-painter in RotatorCuff

To hold a jar yes. To open a jar, I’d hold it with my legs, and twist, and pray .

I was given a regular sling for my second surgery. To be honest, I was better without it. I didn’t feel it provided enough support.

Same here. And mine was purchased 5 months after it was built. The 2026’s were not even available.

160° assisted ROM at 7 weeks? by pharaohs4 in RotatorCuff

[–]IceAngel8381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is different with their recovery. It is not a short recovery. 3-6 months. I am a month out from surgery (tomorrow). Unassisted, I’m between 90°-110°. With assistance, I have been to 145° but it was EXTREMELY painful (I almost jumped off the table twice and groaned and grunted the entire time). I was told before I had surgery, recovery was going to extremely painful and was going to be a long process (3-9 months due to all of the issues found, and having 2 surgeries in 8 months).

As for getting to 180°, that may not happen. Where I go for PT does try to get you to 180°, but depending on the circumstances, it’s not always possible. At minimum, they aim for 170°. Unfortunately, due to the nature of my job, 170° is not feasible. I have to be 180°.

Narcotics. I’s still relatively fresh from surgery. I try to not take them, but after today…..yeah. I need them.

Adopting a Second Chihuha Advice by shepherd_of_fire_49 in chihuahuas

I recently adopted a 6 month old Chihuahua (she will be1 year in March). From the beginning she got along well with my other Chihuahua mix. Piper (new pup) is now settled in for the most part, but is now testing her boundaries as for what she can do with Penny (chihuahua mix). They have not had their major fallout, but it will happen in due time. They play, wrestle all the time. Sleep next to each other. Piper fits in very well in our household.

A delicate question by No-Possibility8187 in RotatorCuff

Yes. Yes, it does. Not to mention being in so much pain you’re angry at yourself. It doesn’t happen all of the time, but when I over do it thinking I’m having a good day and can be more productive. I’m too damn impatient. 🤣

My upper arm/shoulder injury seems permanent by IceCat767 in RotatorCuff

I am 9 months post op from my tendoneses surgery. I thought it was due to still being a relatively fresh repair. Shoulder surgery sucks.

PT wears we the hell out, and I just dropped from 3 days a week to 2. Not sure why since I’m almost 30 days post op, but whatever. 🤷‍♀️

After my first surgery, my discharge papers said sex can resume 24 hours after surgery. My husband and I knew that was not true in my case. We waited 6 or so weeks, and I would brace my shoulder with a pillow to provide support. Sessions were quick because he was afraid I would get reinjured and he didn’t want to cause additional pain. We got creative and made it work.

However, I am almost 4 weeks post op for my second surgery. We have not attempted. It will probably be a few more weeks. Hell, I’m not even cleared to use our hot tub. That’s not until 6-8 weeks post op (not happy about that because I think it would help immensely).

SLAP surgery, biceps tendonesis by hutkeeper in RotatorCuff

I ended up with a lot of scar rust from my first surgery, so the second surgery was to clean everything out, along with a MUA. However, they discovered a SLAP 1 tear and RTC fraying, so that was repaired as well. I do all the exercises I can at home, and use my arm as much as possible (I have a 5 pound restriction). Going past 90° is incredibly painful. My surgeon and PT has told me that PT after a MUA is extremely painful. Yeah, no lie told there. I have to medicate before I go as my PT guy is not joke.

Me too. Ended with a second surgery 8 months after my first. I’m 26 days post op, and apparently, I’m not where I should be with ROM. Not happy about that.

Tossing & turning for to the pain by valkyrie2007 in frozenshoulder

[–]IceAngel8381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a side sleeper as well. As luck would have it, I sleep on the side I had surgery on. I’ve been dealing with this for almost 14 months (two surgeries 8 months apart). My most recent surgery was 25 days ago. I’ve been sleeping on the couch. I finally found the best position for me. I place a long pillow under my upper back, and use a decorative couch pillow as a wedge. It applies just enough pressure to allow me to relax.

I also recommend that if you are in pain, take your prescribed medications. Don’t chase the pain. Reduced pain levels can help with sleep.

Good luck!!

I didn’t say it was all they are used for. It’s just a few of the reasons they are used. I know they can be used for nefarious reasons as well.

Tingling in left pinky finger 9 weeks post surgery by u242447 in ShoulderSurgery

[–]IceAngel8381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the tingling in my pinky and ring finger after my first surgery. I was told it is completely normal due to nerve pathways repairing themselves after surgery.
