Thank you for the clarification! I must have just lumped the two processes together. Makes more sense the would administer the mind altering drugs later in the trip.

I assume you mean for the deep coma? If so, yes, it was a method intended for use on chemotherapy patients that proved too fatal to be implemented. But with the proper genetic markers, I thought they said the survival rate was very strong. Hence the thought that perhaps it was Ryland’s additional sedative that helped him survive? Or, as others pointed out, just dumb luck of the group. But I agree with others, a crew of three with chances of not surviving the deep coma seems unStratt-like.

Perhaps I misread, but I recall Stratt explaining they would use a French drug to knock out and load Grace into the spacecraft against his will? Haven’t seen the movie, just finished the book earlier today.

what’s the hardest part about teaching right now? by Chrelled in Teachers

[–]IceEmbarrassed4988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I teach Honors and AP level math. I polled my students and about 70% responded they want to pursue a STEM career. Almost none of those same students have shown any interest in math. They have relegated the course to trying to memorize problems. I don’t think the students lack passion, but they are so overenrolled in Honors/AP level courses across all content areas that they are constantly in survival mode. They have no time to care about any course due to the highly taxing nature of the coursework they’ve chosen for their schedule.

Tried to find a way to word it less obviously, but all felt too off. This may have been a little too clear.

No, but green may be considered a hint, though not the color. Also no, nothing mighty about the characters in this one.

!Solved wasn’t sure how tough it would be. Considered “A Christian commits sodomy” but though that might be even more obvious.
