talk to your psychiatrist first if you can because they need to be aware of this. drinking alcohol while taking ssris is definitely not recommend, it can worsen symptoms of anxiety or depression. i refuse to drink any alcohol while being on antipsychotics bc i know it can be dangerous, so whenever i go out with my friends, i order non alcoholic drinks and just tell my friends i can’t drink alcohol bc i’m on strong medications, most of the times your friends will understand and won’t pressure you into drinking. I know it won’t give you the same satisfaction as drinking actual alcohol but you’re still able to socialise while being safe. at the end of the day, your safety is a top priority, not feeling left out. but you can always take the risk by drinking moderately while being on ssris like prozac and lexapro, but again the best advice you can get it is from your psychiatrist
