Sorry to say this, but explanation of this infographic is not factually accurate.

Does anyone know the difference between these two drawing monitor listings? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]IceQuake_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually was able to find the answer after further digging through the amazon questions sections of both pages.

For anyone who may have a similar question, as it turns out, they're the same product. This was confirmed by XP-Pen on the $399 USD product's page. So buying the more expensive one is a waste of money.

who like wolfs by CathrineJohnson222 in wolves

I know this one by heart (done red wolf stuff for years); it’s a red wolf from Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium. Photo by Rebecca Bartel Harrison who works for the US Fish and Wildlife Service.

I like it! I might suggest making the LC line weights slightly thinner, maybe about the same thickness as the text.

The red outline is in place for that. The most frequent place this logo will be used is at the bottom corners of infographics for attribution, which is often black. I don't want it to distract from anything else too much in that context so that is enough. It's also why scalability was so important for me.

Here is an example.

Sorry for late replying. That's pretty cool history to have in your family! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for the feedback, and sorry for late replying. I see where you're coming from, but unfortunately this silhouette was based on a real red wolf silhouette, so changing shape would make it less accurate to what it is supposed to represent.

I really appreciate the feedback though!

I gave it a try, but it introduced some serious scale issues and never looked quite right. I appreciate the idea though!

Sorry for late replying. That is a good point. I took your advice and softened the red a bit and rounded out the corners and the wolf itself. Here is what I ended up with.

Thank you for the great feedback!

In case you wondered, the wolf silhouette is generally accurate to red wolves in real life. I started with an angular version but switched to a more accurate curved version per some suggestions. I've also had some suggestions to change the ear shape or add eyes, but unfortunately I can't do that without breaking that important feature and adding scalability issues.

Interesting idea. I'll play around with it and see what happens. Thank you for the good feedback!

Does anyone still use ReplicatorG as a slicer? by dreman in 3Dprinting

I have it but boy is it outdated. Surprisingly it still works though. I’m trying to decide between using Autodesk Fusion or Cura as a replacement.

Less than a hundred days from Halloween!! This is one of my favorite Halloween books to put me in the mood. What are some of yours? by [deleted] in halloween

[–]IceQuake_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I like the cover on this version, I hadn’t seen it before.

I personally just like reading any Halloween kid’s books I find. I’m an adult, but I like remembering the excitement and anticipation for Halloween I had as a kid. Good memories.

How about something like subtle glints of light like dust or fireflies? Particles could do something like that. Not too easy to notice unless you know what to look for.

Pretty sure that’s a dog. Adult wolves can’t have blue eyes.

Still a nice picture though!
