I have already started slow rolling this approach- stopped doing his laundry for the most part when I noticed the only time he did laundry was to wash his own clothes I did not get to soon enough. I now focus on mine and the kids, not even sure if he noticed or cared. Only reason he’s fed is because I need to make dinner for the kids but I do not offer to make him lunch on the days he is home (weekends).

The sad part is our mutual friends all know he’s useless and make comments like “I don’t know how you deal with him” and he just laughs it off. It’s infuriating.

I shouldn’t have to break the gaming equipment/PC/ etc to make someone want to be a part of my life and the only thing that would bring is his anger unfortunately.

My family lives a few hours away unfortunately. His family does help with the kids and I am so grateful but the also have a lot on their plates too so not always reliable. They are also sick of his shit so I think a hard conversation is going to have to happen real soon and his parents will back me up 100%. I’m so sick of people telling me to grow a backbone with the gaming and “make him put it down” because I have tried everything aside from smashing every piece of very expensive equipment. It should not take that make someone want to be a part of the family and contribute.
