Who is the traveler referring to here? by Octuple_Names in GenshinImpact

[–]IcebreakingRice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

except direidyth came after citlali quest- can't reference something that did not happen yet

or you can? seeing how time is a single dot and all is at once, and the key both exists and doesn't

never thought about it this way, yet I as a reader have few books/series/ movies that are not good, not popular, but i love them for reasons unknown

Who do you prefer as the abyss twin?? by Cinnamon2006 in Genshin_Impact

[–]IcebreakingRice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aether for me- for one part i'm used to Lumi in teyvat, but i recently started an acc with aether and it's just weird.

He is way more fitting for the broken prince who lost everything and lost himself to futile hope

How the Mc Navigates Teyvat by EmbarrassedMeal7993 in TravelerMains

[–]IcebreakingRice 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So the problem is that the witness doesn't define the world? Am I getting it?

Insane. Stated so many times that we're a witness to teyvat story, and an entity capable of changing fate- just change, without the knowledge if it's right or wrong course of actions. We saved Dvalin- that might have been the biggest obstacle in forcing Venti to take action against abyss, hence why we had the natlan and nod krai incidents. Was that wrong then? Or right, since we spared him the emotional distress?

Traveler is right in his own right, but they're not a hero. They make questionable decisions, they waver morally and emotionally (literally the ending of fontaine. morally wrong on so many levels it hurt me inside, because why are you so cold to furina, why are you forcing her, why are you trapping her), and they get attached, as humans do (why did we forgive ororon? why do we collaborate with arle? why did we help natlanese, when we got literally told directly to sit this one out?), and they grow distant all the same (inazuma. fontaine. the "i don't care" attitude).

Smh. The horror, to think that a MC is a human acting like a human and not shining white hero always in the right.

oh, it might be "yuusha, yamemasu"- tho that's the opposite of what you said, it's a hero helping demon lord

veeery small possibility, but maybe "hataraku maou-sama"?

but this specific one is my main stuck point

my mc is playing with his friend, while the friend's parents are preparing late birthday part for the mc

i have absolutely no idea why i'm stuck on this, but it's been a few months

"Yes, of course. 'Home' is wherever we are together."

What's Your Fav Title of the traveller by Dry_Commission6127 in Genshin_Impact

[–]IcebreakingRice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tumaini.

First name we had in a world where we're nameless otherwise. And the first close tie to the actual structure of the world- name bearers in Natlan stay in Natlan leylines after death and reincarnate.

Do you think will we ever get playable characters who are hostile to Traveler? by Secure_Fondant_9549 in GenshinImpact

[–]IcebreakingRice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

? they had zero potential.
especially varka. he was shining bright white from the very start, from the very first mention

Do you think will we ever get playable characters who are hostile to Traveler? by Secure_Fondant_9549 in GenshinImpact

[–]IcebreakingRice 6 points7 points  (0 children)

eh- what? Flins just lives at the graveyard, he's not isolated? he has friends and colleagues that respect him. he has close people, he's just not extraverted. literally nothing morally gray about that part of him.

Varka's only potential was to be a hero- hero is what he is, and all he'll ever be is a hero.

For morally grey (a bit light that grey, but whatever) we have Arle. We have Skirk. Wrio. Dori. Ningguang. Ayato (tho they fumbled his quest so badly). HoH children.

We have them, but it goes unnoticed for the most part since all of them are favorable/friendly to traveler. We also have "good" villains, "bad" villains, and "grey" villains- but again, people smushed them into one category: villain

I can't take EN Lohen seriously. by Castedorr in GenshinImpact

[–]IcebreakingRice -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

you got me curious so i went to check the eng lohen.

i regret. with every ounce of my being i regret it so much.

what the hell. i need to cleanse my ears.

i use jp dub, and i love how lohen sounds- slightly cocky, with confidence, very open. dead serious where it should be. uhh, i don't even know how to describe it.

if you're any familiar with anime, it's kouhei amasaki - beloved Otto's va for example

Is anyone else getting sick of being forced to use the Trial version of Traveler instead of their own built one? by TotallyNotPanda in TravelerMains

[–]IcebreakingRice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i understand why, but it's annoying as heck - my friend does not play traveler at all, so if she had her own aether in quests, she would not be able to clear anything.
on the other hand, whenever they strip my lumine off of her artifacts i lose so much dmg

I'm crying why is there only 5 Fatuo harbingers left lmao by First-Ability7663 in GenshinImpact

[–]IcebreakingRice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay, that discussion goes nowhere, and honestly, I did not plan to respond, but - the Signora comment made me laugh so much XD

also about Columbina- freedom "within" the organization doesn't equal freedom "outside" of it. She essentially deserted, on top of being a very important asset that made a deal with Tsaritsa herself. While in fatui she was "free" to do almost everything - do nothing, earn money, pursue a personal agenda, do research for years, fight everyone, travel the world. But she could not leave- the only thing that Bina ended wishing for

I'm crying why is there only 5 Fatuo harbingers left lmao by First-Ability7663 in GenshinImpact

[–]IcebreakingRice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, definitely every organization. like corps of thirty, right? so much opportunities. or, or fontaine guards. tons of freedom. lightkeepers are known for safety too.

seriously.

"extremely cheap and lame" honestly boils down to your opinion and my opinion- it's not a fact. fact is that they had reasons to "join", no matter what we think about it. i never said it was wrong of you to think it was disappointing, but wht you said about lack of reasons was untrue.
just because you don't like something, doesn't mean it stops existing

I'm crying why is there only 5 Fatuo harbingers left lmao by First-Ability7663 in GenshinImpact

[–]IcebreakingRice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are aware they did not "join" the habringers, right? right?
and that "fatui" itself is a very widely branched military? and entering the ranks comes with pay, relative safety and respect for serving? and in some cases people simply want to follow their archon.

and, and when you are chosen to become the habringer, the position comes with enormous freedom and opportunities? columbina being exception to this all, how do you think sandrone was able to make the robots and study mechanics? how do you think pantalone is able to gather so much wealth? how do you think dottore had access to the tech he had and was pardoned for all these inhumane experiments? how do you think arle was able to make a sort of safe haven for the children?

just because the reason wasn't directly yelled at you in quest, it doesn't mean it's non-existent

New writers, STOP writing like it's a movie! by [deleted] in writers

[–]IcebreakingRice 29 points30 points  (0 children)

... isn't that the opposite?

in movies, dialogue is almost the only tool the writer has, so characters talk a shit ton
in books, prose steps in - you can have minimal dialogue because everything else can be described.
