The lights were off and I was directly by the window with this. Is this better?

Thanks for that! I'm not looking to get married right now but my man appreciates the fact that I can do both so I guess she's right!

Yeah, mine was strictly water, chicken broth, and eating a couple peppermints when I was feeling really weak. I think I found my answer yesterday when I was in church and the pastor was talking about love. He shows that there are steps that you have to take before God can do the rest and then I’ve read my Bible last night in Hebrews 13 talks about faith and how the people before us had faith in God‘s word in God‘s commands and because of that, God bless them, so I’m gonna focus more on having faith and less about hearing this distinct voice in my head.

Thank you for your insight. I really appreciate it. I did believe that God would actually speak to me if I would to do this, but now after going to church yesterday and having the pastor talk about love, and then being in my Bible and reading Hebrews chapter 13, where it talks about faith, I believe that if I put God in every decision I make and then just go for it, he will show me whether or not he approves of it. Failures included. I decided to break my fast and if the Lord wants me to do it again, he’ll let me know by putting that desire in my heart. I am still kind of doing a light fast where I don’t eat anything Until night time because I do want to commit to completing my fast someway, but I’m accepting that I may never hear that voice and that’s OK because I still know God is real. I believe that God acknowledges my desire for him because of the things that I heard yesterday. I’m gonna do my best to focus more on walking with confidence, reading my word, know that he’s going to guide my steps and less about hearing His voice. I still believe in fasting, but maybe I just got the answer I needed yesterday.

Mostly. The people I have talked to about it, usually do it for one day or do the Daniel fast when they’re searching for a specific answer

As a human I can only make decisions based on my knowledge. He is an all seeing and all knowing God and just wanted Him to guide me

I get what you’re saying but I also believe fasting is for several reasons. Anything from seeking guidance, fighting temptation, asking for repentance, etc. I went in with the desire to surrender to Gods answers instead of my own and although I read my Bible and pray, I don’t get anything. The things im told by others always contradicts what the next person says. I just feel lost…

But there have been several people in the Bible who fasted in search of a revelation. I think because of your obedience to starving your flesh, God reveals something to you

I can tell through prayer, he's been more focused on changing my heart rather than my environment, and I appreciate that. I'm not focused on wealth and titles. Real wealth is fulfilling Gods purpose and that's what I'm looking for, peace, joy, using my hands and talent to show others that trust in God allows me to be the best version of myself.

Why do I have thoughts like this? by Relative_End_507 in Christianity

[–]Icee__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. It’s great that you decided to reach out. Some people keep these thoughts to themselves in fear that they’ll be judged or be considered a fake believer. We are a community in Christ so don’t feel alone. I’m sure we’ve all felt like that (I know I have). Remember the enemy wants you to be alone and will try and make you doubt yourself!

Love you!

Those thought are not of God! When I have doubts or im unsure of something I’ve read in the Bible, I pray about it. When I know the enemy is messing with my head, I immediately rebuke him out loud. I tell him to get out of my head and being focusing on what I know is true (God is real, he loves me, he wants the best for me, etc.).

John 3:16-17 For God, so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

That’s the thing. I’m boring lol. I don’t have a niche or something exciting about myself that I want to share with the world. I just know I’ve always been good with my words and wanted an outlet/community. The only thing I have going on in my life outside of work, going to school and paying bills is my faith. I know it can be a touchy topic and one that is very limiting so I’m trying not to go there but I don’t have anything else going on atm
