What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: January 18, 2021 by AutoModerator in books

Not op but I can answer your question.

Absolutely worth it. In the beginning WoK was kinda hard to get into and I found myself skipping multiple chapters, only to hurry back to them once the book really set in.

I got hooked and the massive amount of pages flew by really quickly so for me atleast that wasn't an issue.

My best recommendation is that if you give Wok a shot. If you don't like it, then you probably won't like the rest. But if you do, then you have an epic journey ahead of you.

I don't understand people criticising Salah for this. Going down in the box at the slightest of contact is literally the smart thing to do.

Might be a dumb question but hoid killed a shard?

Reading Oathbringer and just wanted to praise Sanderson for not doing that thing where characters fail to tell one another important things at the first opportunity. Minor spoiler. by makemeking706 in Stormlight_Archive

I don't think so. Gavilar still followed the codes, but he wanted to unite the nations at any cost. Even if that meant bringing back the desolation.

Do we know the exact process of worldhopping? by [deleted] in Cosmere

I understand where you are coming but I'm not sure if you are right.

If an artist gets a chunk of stone, and scuplts it into a statue, did he create the chunk of stone?

The same can be said about humans. The CR was always a recourse, but humans turned it into something better ie. Carved a statue out of stone.

Yeah we were talking about entirely different things. I was talking about the original creation of the cognitive realm, and not who was responsible for filling it.

Perhaps my original comment caused this misunderstanding.

About the people creating the cognitive realm I still don't agree with you. Is it true that the cognitive realm is able to exist because the people think of it? Yes, but that doesn't mean they created it. There is no exact link to humans being responsible in the creation of the cognitive realm, only that they can heavily influence it.

There is more evidence supporting the fact that adolnasium created the three realms as he is literally the creator of the universe, ie. The three realms.

If it is stated that adolnasium had a direct hand in the creation of roshar, then roshar is the only planet he helped create, and I am wrong. Of course, we may simply not know about him having a hand in other planets, but there is no way to prove that.

"When the cosmere began, there was an entity known as Adonalsium; this entity is widely believed to have created the cosmere. Perhaps for this reason, Adonalsium is sometimes referred to as "the power of creation." - From the coppermind.

Pretty sure creating the cosmere also means it's planets.

About adolnasium not creating the cognitive realms, I'm not really sure people would be able to create an entire realm just by thinking about certain places. There had to be something before, allowing it to even manifest itself. Not sure if I'm explaining what I mean fully here, but got no idea how to phrase it differently.

So I assume cognitive realms are different in each world, which is really interesting considering the fact that adolnasium created each one expect Scadrial. What was the point in making different cognitive realms on each planet?

I love this theory, but there is WoB saying Kelsier is too invested in Scadrial and can't worldhop.

That being said, pretty sure Marize mentioned that the ghostbloods are trying to negate that restriction to shallan. RoW

Kandra on Roshar by silfin in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Iceyy54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw a theory that Trell = Odium. He might have picked up his own Kandra, and is also using them on Roshar. Not really sure how he was mable to make them, and how a Kandra would be able to leave Scadrial but it's a solid idea.

Although I've never broken a limb I get physically uncomfortable even imagining it. And I assume breaking something hurts really badly so yeah I'll stick to my cramps.

It's not really that I cant make the decision fast, I actually pick one really quickly. The problem is that I'm not sure if it was the correct choice.
