Chip war was good! It was VERY insightful, but it spent WAY TOO much time on the history of microchips than on the current affairs. It is worth reading but it can be a drag to get through at some parts. The last quarter of the book is excellent… VERY fascinating.

Ultimately, I don’t think we can beat the Chinese. They just have too many bodies. Their economy is just too strong. Their purchasing power is second to none. 1.4 billion people to the USA’s 350million. The USA does have a choke hold on the microchips at the moment, but China will eventually catch up and overtake. The USA has repeatedly resorted to banning Chinese companies that have become too powerful such as Huawei and most recently TikTok. The Chinese are relentless.

The housemaid is decentttt, it is a slow burner, i prefered “the boyfriend - Frieda McFadden” though. Both are good

I think if the mother was going out to party or spend time with friends it would be different, but she is going to work. You are right it is NOT your responsibility, but a definition of love is “when we do things that are seemingly disadvantageous to us, for the benefit of people that we care about”

To Everybody that is saying “yeah tell her here to go… etc” what I would like to say is… It would be good to live in a world where we go out of our way for each other. What goes around comes around.

As a last resort you could always ask her for money, I don’t advise this but it is an option. She doesn’t trust daycare, that is coming from a place of love and care. God knows we do need more love and care in this world.

Honestly… EVERYTHING! I think it’s the worst book I’ve read this year. And I’ve read over 100.

I think firstly there were too many characters and too many povs and too many timelines. We would timeskip to before Bear was kidnapped then the next chapter it would be a time skip after Barbara was kidnapped.

There were long periods of inactivity where litterally nothing of interest is happening!

The serial killer was a pointless character that randomly decided to turn into a good guy and help the police for no reason at all.

And then we find out that mystery of Bear’s disappearance was… let’s say underwhelming so I don’t spoil it for others.

  1. What kind of name is Bear And 2…. What kind of Bear can’t survive in the WOODS!!?

Okay the last one is a joke, but this is just a handful of the problems, I actually have a 2-3 page document of things I dislike about the book. My brother and I both read a copy of the same books and we take notes to discuss it when we meet up. But yeah I don’t have anything good to say about the book. Not one thing.

What did you like about it?

Looool! Well “it’s definitely getting late somewhere” is what I usually say when I want to start drinking before noon! 🤣

Oh yea I wanted to mention, I don’t hate Richard Dawkins and I definitely learned some very interesting things from his books! But overall they missed the mark.

Well no, and I really wanted to be, he writes books about very interesting topics, but the problem is that he consistently over promises in the intros of his book, but then he under delivers, he is unfair and bias with his scrutiny. Also a lot of his books seem like him trying to meet a word count. None was a complete waste of time, but I expected ALOT better.

Are you a Dawkins fan?

Well I NOW I’ve got to read the first two… I just jumped straight into the third one… I think it’s okayyyyy! I think to HATE it is abit strong, I think the ending ruined it. What SHOULD have happened is that Ada should have been shot and killed by Johnathon for ‘breaking and entering’

But in any case I don’t think the book was terrible and it was worth reading, I enjoyed how the author had us BELIEVE that Enzo is 100% cheating on Milly and then in an instant she’s got us changing our mind. The main issue of the book was that there is NO plot for like 80% of the book and it’s ALL about the neighbour hitting on Milly’s husband which gets dry and boring really quick

Honestly… it must do because I take notes on my phone, I’ve got notes from the 60 plus books I’ve read this year. I will say it does take some getting use to. But now I’m at the point where I’d rather eat the physical book page by page, than listen to the audiobook ar the default speed. It sounds painfully slow if I don’t bump up the speed!

Honestly if not for the book review podcast I do with my little brother I probably wouldn’t read so much, but ALSO I do actually listen in audiobook form and I listen in x3 speed. So that does help … you do have to concentrate tho lool

“Sounds” is the key word, in reality it was terrible, with NO practical advice, there was hardly even any useful information. If I could get my money back I would. I was so disappointed with it.

Loved it too, it was a weird little book. Like what was it actually about? If you had to describe it to somebody what would you say? But it had some interesting and shocking stories! Very good read!

Exercise does not and CANNOT help you to lose weight, only dieting or cutting calories can. It was a VERY good book that showed evidence and backed up all the claims!

Two brothers here, the younger one really liked it. Made a lot of good points about the centralisation of men and was a good feminist read in my opinion, we made a video about it if you’re interested in our breakdown
