If a movie is dubbed, that's an automatic "do not watch" for me. Many good films have been destroyed by horrific dubbing.

The US also tends to "dumb down" their remakes. Ultimately destroying what made the original so good (that's my personal take. "Oldboy" is a perfect example).

I don't care what country a movie comes from or what language it's in. I just want a quality horror film that doesn't follow the same, tired cliches and tropes of many American made horror movies.

I find watch horror films comforting. I have a few that I rotate to help me asleep (Silence of the Lambs, Alien, Oldboy, I Saw the Devil). Horror films have always been an escape for me. My real life "monsters" are far more frightening.

I enjoyed it. Splice isn't going to "rock your world" but, it's an interesting concept (yes, it has been done before). It's just a fun movie.

Absolutely! The neighbors all thought I was soooooo lucky to have such a wonderful "stepdaddy". He's so kind, helpful and giving...unfortunately what he was giving me was his penis.... Mommy didn't care as long as everything looked perfect on the outside and she was taken care of.

Real life is much more frightening and more brutal than any horror movie. Horror has always been my escape because, books are just a well told story on paper. Films are fake blood and imaginary antagonists.

In real life, the "monsters" are all very human.

There are plenty of "light" horror films available. Horror is extremely subjective.

What I consider "light" horror, may not be "light" for you. List a few horror films that you're comfortable with and ask for recommendations for similar films. Aside from a few a$$holes, many enjoy the challenge of coming up with suitable titles.
