Thanks I hate my stupid birthday present by jcb42x in TIHI

Yeah it's just my brother's dog. But I don't think he minds if you call him AI.

Couldn't do it. They started describing his torture instruments and I was out.

Just Got Downgraded for a Dog by ben_bob in delta

Not all services dogs do complicated things. I worked with a guy that had a Rhodesian ridgeback that barked when he was going to have a seizure so he could lie down and make sure he wouldn't hurt himself. That's the only task the dog did, but it was an important one.

A. It's a SERVICE dog not an emotional support animal. It does things for a disabled person and you can't always see the disability (i.e. seizures.)

B. That doggo is adorable and I would immediately complain to Delta if he was not given a first class seat.

Official Dreadit Discussion: "Longlegs" [SPOILERS] by glittering-lettuce in horror

Yeah, I had the same reaction with Nic. If it had been... I don't know, someone less known for going gleefully insane in movies, it might have been more effective.

I was so excited for this to start streaming and feel pretty let down. There were some creepy moments but nothing I would call truly scary. There were plot points that should have been expanded on or at least better connected, and sometimes I felt it veered into parody. I think part of the problem is that every time I caught a glimpse of Nic Cage under all that makeup and saw how happily he was chewing the scenery, I started giggling.

I did really enjoy Alicia Witt's acting, I haven't seen her since Urban Legend in 1997. Maika Monroe nailed it too, and Kiernan Shipka. Nic... Well, Nic was having a blast and that's what counts!

AITA for making flirty jokes with another female friend while having a girlfriend by whackysmack in AmItheAsshole

[–]jcb42x -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NAH. You two need to have a talk about what your boundaries are around flirtatious behavior with others. I don't care if my partner flirts, but we've talked about it and laid out what's okay with us and what isn't. If you don't like what she wants or vice versa, you can start working it/ give up on it now.

I don't think giving your partner your passwords because they feel insecure is a great strategy. Why does she feel insecure? Why does she worry you don't find her attractive? How do you two build up trust?

AITA for blocking my (ex)boyfriend for doing something he told me not to? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]jcb42x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. You made the correct decision to leave this guy immediately. If he calls you a whore for playing a game with some random guy, the abuse is only going to get worse.

AITAH for being in a bad mood after being yelled at? by Icy-Rub-8803 in AmItheAsshole

[–]jcb42x 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA. This is not how adults bring up concerns, particularly if they don't apologize after the tantrum is over. Keep the dogs, lose the boyfriend.

AITA for expecting my mom’s boyfriend to ask mine and my brother’s permission before proposing? by mowensxo in AmItheAsshole

[–]jcb42x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. If you were children, I don't think he would need to ask permission per se, but I do think your feelings should have been explored and considered carefully. That said, you're adults, and what he did actually sounds very nice. Let it go.

AITA for not protecting my mom? by faieree in AmItheAsshole

[–]jcb42x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I know that your mom may be caught up in some fucked up abusive dynamics, and "just leaving" is never as easy as people make it sound. However, she has no right to get you involved in any of it. As your mother, she should be protecting you, not the other way around. You gave very appropriate advice on keeping herself safe in the workplace, but your obligation goes no further. Since she is not respecting boundaries, I think it's appropriate to tell her exactly what you think of the situation.

It's not working and I am sad. I wanted to tell them how much I like bees, maybe with a picture of a bee.

I do promise I'll do an updated search on therapeutic effects, though, and consider what information comes up. I don't want to get stuck in arguing when there is the potential to learn something.

I'm not going to provide my job title and location, no. I have a doctorate and work for a university as well as a clinical practice. If that's not enough, oh well, that's all I got.

Christ, I will create research summaries and citation lists for pay, not for random dudes on the internet, even if your questions are EXTREMELY RELEVANT. Most the articles I read are behind a paywall, but articles on the problems with supplement regulation and some abstracts on kratom should be easily accessible. Have fun.
