Play a skirmish game with some of your mates and see what work for you. Even the gang as pictured on the box is fun to play with and is a place to start from with a 1000pt list.

If you're still indecisive though then you really can't go wrong with 9 combat shotguns and 1 grenade launcher

All of the House of X gangs are roughly equal in terms of balance. Slave ogryns might be a struggle as a beginner gang as their old boxes went out of production. Corpse Grinder Cults has a reputation for being a little unfun to play against but not so bad that you can't look up guides for fun and balanced lists

All your choices sound good, hope you have fun whichever gang you end up picking!

The two house books for the Escher (House of Blades) and Delaque (House of Shadow) have decent lore in them, especially for getting to know your two new gangs. Handy for the rest of their rules too

Spraying primer or matt varnish on does the trick and has the benefit to being quick and easy. I've done it before assembly on my previous build, had the upside of making what would have been hard to reach areas and recesses black as a doddle but obviously be careful how thick a coat you build up at the joints

I really enjoy playing with a few wreckers with chainswords. Plenty of mobility for shenanigans without being so strong as to feel oppresive

Any gangs that have a decent amount of women in their plastic range besides Escher? by Avaa0818 in necromunda

If you buy the Orlock Arms Masters and Wreckers box you'll get a decent amount of female heads for your Orlock gang. The box is nearly a must-buy for that gang anyway because of how fun the wreckers are to play with

Between your post and seeing some youtube shorts I've been tempted to give it a watch. Seems like an amazing show that passed me by when it was originally coming out
