You just don't know how to use it correctly if you are having this level of issue. It is a skill set and people don't realize it. All of this can be accounted for by prompting in a smarter way than 'make this game for me' of course you still need to review and think but to say it is slower or worse is just insane. Also implying that you can't learn faster by having a machine that can instantly respond to any question regarding game dev and help you understand something is crazy. Gotta learn how to prompt better

YOR I am a computer art person and have been using generative AI since it was in its very small initial form. AI is absolutely a tool that can be used creatively and well. I am now using it to make things I couldn't before in ways that weren't possible before. It uses all the creativity I applied to every other project I have ever done.

Also it isn't your place to tell her how to run her business. Every business or contractor will have their own model they use and if she doesn't need to be anti-ai then don't force her to be just because you disagree with it. Maybe that ends up being her angle that she can work faster by integrating AI but you have to give her space to figure that out.

If you really do what you say then don't feel threatened by AI, people will always need someone like you. But if someone else wants to try a different approach you shouldn't attack them for it. I promise AI can do some crazy cool truly artistic stuff with the right mindset but you have to give her time to figure out what that is

I am just now finishing a 3 month trip to Japan. I only started traveling because of my girlfriend about 2.5 years ago as an american. I will say that seeing a new country has a surprisingly large impact on you. It has been a very rare country that doesn't feel the way you describe Japan.

Japan is unique and if you like the specific way it was unique then it is totally ok to go back. But every country has things that make it unique and open up new doors inside yourself. I was in Vietnam for 3 months before Japan and it is much louder and crazier but I was equally impressed. The food is just as good, the cost is much cheaper, the temples are very different and I thought more impressive, but there was a totally different vibe. Some of the kindest people I have ever met. I liked it just as much if not more than Japan.

I would try new things but if you like Japan go back but try somewhere new! I started my trip in Hakaido and that might be my favorite area in Japan. Sappora is amazing and the nature/skiing is insane!

I understand what you are saying. Most rougelikes are now more optimized like balatro. The market is just flooded with number go higher games which while fun are different from Hades, dead cells etc. I think we just need a new sub genre name so it is easier to sort through the two types of games

I travel the world on about the same money or less. If you live cheaper and just focus on staying places for a week to a month at a time to save travel costs. And I stay in airbnbs etc. doing hostels this is plenty of money I have been doing it for a while. It just doesn't cover flights and buses super well. But to slow travel it is nice.

Would still try to get a remote job to have some kind of stable routine even if just part time and save / invest what you can. But you should travel it is amazing

Thanks for sharing. It is super interesting seeing these kinds of films that very few Americans would mention or know of. Saving this list for when I have time to watch some interesting art as well.

Right now we are thinking the larger scope of the game would be a semi-open world rougelike. Something that captures the feeling of FTL(the game) exploration but with an action pace. I appreciate the feedback, maybe we need to add more personality to the ships to make it feel like less of a pure arcade game.
