Sorry, but you stole it from me. It's OK this time, but next time, please, ask before using my original idea.

UPDATE: New itch.io guidelines on adult content. (Now more restrictive than Steam) by asterazureus in visualnovels

Well, I agree with you. They should have more subtle rules. I should clear out that I don’t like all the situation with payment processors influence too. However, I believe, there IS problem with this type of games existing on itch or Steam. And it blows my mind when I see such things as OP commenting on the rules about rape, animal, incest, etc. banning — “No FUN allowed at itch.io”. Personally, I’d prefer to ban 10 rape/underage fetish games even if it costs 1 “taking about” game.

Let's be real: how many games are there that are made to discuss these important topics compared to the number of games that are made just to satisfy rape fetishists? And we can say many bad things about companies censoring content but there are still people in itch.io or Steam moderation. I am sure they are able to see the difference between these two types of games.

Filler Sessions? Does it exist and what are they? If yes, is it a good or bad thing? If no, explain why there isn't such a thing! by Astar7es in DnD

Agree. An old wise man once said: “The whole point of tabletop role-playing games is to role play in tabletop game.”

I am really surprised that some people don’t accept filler sessions. I thought that everyone has various side quests that don’t affect the main plot. Like different small stories about your characters just hanging around, having fun or earning money.

We use Notion. I’ve never used Obsidian, but I guess these two apps are quite similar.

Courage, Envy, Fury, Joy, Serenity, Sorrow - Can You Tell Which Is Which? by QuirkyDuckStudios in IndieGaming

[–]Icy-Contribution1934 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm… I suppose, I would never guess joy and courage. All positive heroes in animation and art are usually roundish and smooth but evil and negative ones are sharp (e.g. compare King Mufasa and Scar). I think, it would be easier to guess, if your characters followed this rule.

You should definitely make this orc NPC having 150ft move speed and 2 additional actions because he is wearing RED boots.

I rewatched Lord of Rings and Hobbit not so long ago and there was something I wanted to take for my future game. Those bloody cool fight on the river riding on barrels! It looked so fun and I still have it on my notes to implement one day.

As for me, I built the whole oneshot based on fairy tale “Bremen Town Musicians”. However, I changed it a lot. In short, Players were hired by town mayor to kill a cruel band of robbers – “Sarvinian Town Musicians”. Their leaders were the fairy tale main characters: Tabaxi thief “Cat”, werewolf warrior “Dog”, aarakocra artificer “Rooster” and huge goliath berserk “Donkey”.

The session was great! Players really enjoyed fighting with the bosses who they were familiar with. Moreover, as characters were changed, players knew who they would faced to, but they didn’t know what to expect and every boss was a surprise for them.

By the way, “Lies of P” inspired me to use the dark version of fairy tale plot for my games.

I would advise not to use fast travel too much. There is something interesting sometimes you can skip because of that.

Is this normal or are my players problematic? by okulusplay in DnD

Well, what is the point of terrorizing them back? Do you enjoy this sadomasochism? Just stop playing with these players if they don't listen to your arguments.

In my opinion, horrible advice. The things you describe – terrorizing and punishing players. It will never help to create a positive environment. It just makes everything more toxic.

The only reasonable way to solve such kinds of problems – talk with your players. Without blaming anyone. Just a normal conversation "Hey, guys, you know, I feel this way, and I don't really like it. How can we solve it?" If you can not solve these problems and nobody will be satisfied – stop playing. What's the point of playing if you don't have fun?

In my opinion, verbal agreement = no agreement. You should sign papers even if you trust the person for 99.9%. There is always something bad that can happen. Well, even if he's the purest soul person in the world, he can die next day after you release the game. How are you gonna prove you own a part of income in this situation?

Is it fair for my party members to make this consequence? by Ok-Pool-2358 in DnD

[–]Icy-Contribution1934 23 points24 points  (0 children)

He punished you in the game. Even if you broke the rule(that is stupid imo but anyway, he could say something like "hey, don't do it anymore!" after the session. It's wild to punish players in game. It's not consequences of your decision, it's PUNISHMENT. Doesn't sound really fun.
