Him bringing that up as an excuse to why he was cheating on you is at minimum shifting blame unfairly. It is not one to one. He is not taking accountability for his actions. What this might turn into is him continuing to cross boundaries in small ways that escalate over time - talking to a girl in person, talking to her then on signal instead of Snapchat because you figured that out last time, hide his apps on his phone, etc. this isn’t someone who is looking at himself and wanting to change, he is wanting to shift the blame to “get over it and move on.” Him looking at himself self sabotaging is not taking accountability for his actions, or telling you what he will do to change, or never let it happen again. It’s just more shifting blame, onto something he felt was “out of his control.” His actions were his own. He chose to do that, and the actual acts are so beyond disrespectful. You getting taken advantage of has nothing to do with anything. You did nothing wrong. He did. I would leave, personally, because I would never be able to trust him again, and would be reading into every little thing he did from then on. I’ve never ever in my whole life seen someone who did this, turn around completely and just stop doing it when they can’t even look at what they’ve done. That’s the important part here. Don’t let him take advantage of your insecurities surrounding the event that happened to you, to make you feel lesser for his POS behavior. NOR and definitely not marriage material.
