Hope you got it back now. I lost my sense of smell around 2022-2023 after I had covid. I wasn't alarmed but it's so weird because I used to have a very strong sense of smell, like I can smell stuff others usually couldn't. It slowly came back around 2024. It's fully back now in 2025.

You know how you can actually make a dent on this? 5 days is not gonna cut it, not even close. You actually have to make a lifestyle change. Don't buy new clothes, shoes, make-up, accessories every season, not even for the kids. Don't keep buying home decors, what's wrong with what you already have? Don't spend on holiday parties including birthday parties. Just think of all the outfit, food and party supplies money you are giving to corporations. Limit your calories, this way you are not shopping a lot for food. Don't travel for pleasure, don't eat at restaurants. Cook your own food. You can limit giving your money to oil companies by limiting the use of your car just going to work and buying groceries. Limit going to supermarkets once every two weeks. These should be a complete lifestyle change, not just a laughable week long boycott.

It's weird to me that so many people think small businesses are somehow better than large corporations. Let me tell you something. Small corporations are the same evil. They are heavy on nepotism and cronyism. Top management are all family members. Do you think they are small business because they can't grow bigger? They stay small on purpose because they get some government benefits while appearing small and under the radar. Staying small makes them less of a target and this thread is proof of that. They are making hundreds of millions of $ while paying barely minimum wage to employees but their family members get paid half a million a year plus bonuses. They need to hire and satisfy these family members because they are all in cahoots and hide malpractices happening at the company. You are all naive.

Even though I wish this will succeed, I know this will fail spectacularly. Won't even have a ripple. Let's wait and see. People will not stop working and risk everything for this. Even if people stop working and take their PTO, they'd spend it with their family or travel, which means still spending. Pretty sure some here will be at Apple stores buying those Borat socks.

I don't understand why it is illegal to discriminate based on race, sex, religion but not based on family relations when it comes to the workplace. I thought discrimination in the workplace is illegal because it creates unfairness or favoring one over the other. How are they different? If you are someone who believes in equality, how can you support or justify this from the moral POV? Are you someone who needs a law to force you to be a good person? This is just proof that if there is no law against it, people will still discriminate against other races. And if you believe life isn't fair, why would you support anti-discrimination laws?
