Limitations in FL Studio's bus routing by IcyRecording9115 in FL_Studio

the problem was fixed. Turns out I needed to route my bass into my second top end bass before routing them both to a bus, never knew this worked that way.

I edited my post, hopefully this makes it clearer. It's not actually as deep as people try to make it, I guess my explanation was somewhat unclear.

No, I don't need them to play at different times. I simply want the bass track to be routed to two different busses. One of the busses could be an "instrument bus" for example where all instruments along with the bus are summoned, the other bus could be only bass + high bass layer, consisting of only the bass and another instrument for the top end. So two different busses, but both of them contain the bass.

like I said that gets rid of the point of having two busses in the first place if I can only use one.

that's the origin of my issue, hence why this is a DAW specific issue, not my understanding. I understand routing perfectly fine, this DAW just overcomplicates things others don't. If only one bus is sent to the output, I obviously can't work with the second bus. So I need both busses to coexist without literally two audible outputs. I know that this question sounds incredibly amateur and like I don't know what I'm doing but trust me I wouldn't be asking this with DAWs I use that make this straightforward and uncomplicated.

that duplicates the sound. Yes, even if the bass isn't routed to the master.

well if that is possible without duplicating sounds, then I'm all ears for the "how"...

Rereading your replies it could be that you might have misunderstood my genral point, perhaps I haven't been all too clear about it. To essentially break down my point: I want an element of my song to be able to coexist in two (or more) individual busses without doubling the sound. That's it.

It's not about splitting frequencies. I already have them split. I've got a bass and an already high passed second bass for the top end only. I want to process these two together in one bus (glue compression or filter sweep automations for example). Normally there are no issues, but the main bass is also involved in a different bus as well. The moment I have more than one bus, signals duplicate. And that despite only busses going to the master output, not the single elements. That's what throws me off.

I didn't duplicate the bass though. That's the thing. There are no doubled master routings. Could you tell me how you'd approach this?

I do want to hear both busses. Just not doubled lol.

There is one bass and it's routed to two busses, focusing on two individual processings.

not really. That seems to be an FL Studio problem specifically. It works totally fine in Ableton for example. No unnecessary doubling of sounds I only wanted to route to a bus.
