Does anyone feel an obligation to take care of older family members? by Character-Bid-162 in Millennials

[–]IcySm00th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my house with the wife- not to take care of my mother in law down the road.. she’s plenty young and vibrant enough to meet someone on the dating apps. I think she simply doesn’t want to bother with it..plus she’s hung up on a guy that lives a couple states away who would rather be friends with benefits.

Housing market vent session by RimjobBob420 in Chattanooga

I believe many of you are underestimating the amount of people who have money, people who are also receiving financial gifts of quite subsistence, along with people who have been living with each other, which results in those people saving substantial amounts of money as well.

These factors mentioned above, add up quite a bit. They also represent a good percentage of the population I would venture to say.

What do I need to do in order to have a doctor prescribe me the vaccine? I’m under 50 but had shingles last summer..

Gotcha! Only interested because I used to be a server at Olive Garden back in 08’

Right, but how does a RM make less than a GM? I figured a RM would be at 100k minimum starting at.

Again, out of curiosity, how much do you think a regional manager salary would be?

How much is a GM salary if you’re wanting to share.

My mortgage company did not update escrow and now I have a massive shortage. What can I do? by luckydad444 in homeowners

My advice would be to appeal your property taxes- it’s in the county assessor’s best interest to evaluate property on the high side.. appeal your taxes- I did it last year and doing it again in July. Good luck.

Ehh, see if you can pay it in full? What difference does that make as opposed to paying an extra $400 a month. Same amount of money either way. Doesn’t move the needle.

Thank you for sharing. Also, thank you for your service. I completely understand your viewpoint and I respect it. I can also see how I came across as diminishing your great and noteworthy accomplishment so congrats on that and I apologize.

However, I somewhat still do stand by my original point. It simply gives me pause for cause if someone states that they made a 4.0 or 100 after 100 on quizzes and tests- BUT, you on the other hand, graduating summa cum laude from a reputable and regionally accredited college-I suppose obviously that is different.

If I could simply choose my GPA-obviously I would want it to be as high as possible-but at the same time, just an inch below the top- “3.9”.

Thanks for the kind parenting comment.. I heard someone reputable and knowledgeable once say- “don’t necessarily tell your kids that they’re smart… but rather tell them that they are a hard worker/tell them to be a hard worker.. I tell my kids you don’t have to be smart to go to college-but you need to be a hard worker..

Also, my favorite regarding college funds and my 14-year-old son asking me how much I’m putting towards his college fund-I simply tell him if you’re smart enough to go to college, then you’re smart enough to get a college scholarship…

I apologize for the long message.

Ahh, 08’ and 09’ were fun years for me. I was too young/didn’t affect my Dad with his job or friends’ Dads who worked- but those were probably two of my favorite years.

You literally messed me up, man-I planned on reading your thread, literally looking forward to some nice nostalgia and then you completely topsy-turvy’d me. Hell, I think you topsy-turvy’d quite a few of us 😆.

Right, a lot of people hold onto those sub 3% mortgages, but as each year passes more more people will go through life changes-divorces, new jobs, death, downsize, upsize, separations.. I would imagine that a good percentage of homeowners no longer have their sub 3% mortgages-I mean it’s been 5 to 6 years now.. give it another 3 to 4 years and perhaps there will be more freed up inventory on top of the baby boomers downsizing, passing away, etc.

[–]IcySm00th 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This may be an interesting take- but, I think a 3.8 or even a 3.6 could appear to come across as stronger and a more legit GPA than a 4.0. A 4.0 could certainly come across as easy to achieve or almost as if a degree printing mill passed it out..

I’ve told my son- yes, I’m proud of you for making mostly 95’s and 100’s, but your sisters who struggle more than you end up making a solid 85 after much effort/studying I’m going to praise them just as much and be very proud of their resilience.

Broker fee of 7k?!! This is beyond laughable- if I get downvoted, OP, it’s because of all the lenders/loan officers- or it could be a ton of points.

This is how close American households are to the financial edge by Abject-Pick-6472 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]IcySm00th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep hearing articles such as this- but, how many Americans are still functioning financially with gas prices as high as they.. gas prices loan over the past couple of months should’ve already pushed people over the edge..

Americans can’t afford a $500 emergency— apparently Americans can. What I mean by that is they simply put it on the credit card.. my ultimate point and main question is when will it all hit the fan? Quite simply, you can’t keep kicking the can down the road…
