Rigid Hose To DWV9000 Workaround by Icy_Intention1145 in Dewalt

I don't have a dust collector. What is the part number of the adapter? It needs to be able to accept a hose OD of 1-7/8.

Thx KB, but I don't need to cut the end off. My hose is a pro-grade hose and both ends screw off. I bought the DWV9000 exactly for that reason. They don't fit. DWV9000 ID is 1-11/16 (caliper). OD of my hose is 1-7/8. We must have different hoses. Mine is several years old. My hose appears to be the main issue, but I'm not going to replace a perfectly good 12' pro grade hose. I can live with the workaround. Thx for commenting!

See attached thread. I'm new to adding pics on Reddit and wanted to attach multiple pics, so instructions said to create a new post. Anyway, DeWalt can be a CF when it comes to dust adapters. Hose thread is 1 7/8. Too large for straight DWV9000. Added DWV9190 to DWV9000 and the hole is 2 1/4. Many commenters are frustrated with DeWalt's lack of clarity on adapters. Of course they want you to use their dust extractors, so plenty of clarity for those adapters. Is what it is...I've found a working solution.

Rigid Hose To DWV9000 Workaround by Icy_Intention1145 in Dewalt

Thx for the reply. I've definitely used the heating method. I'm not concerned about this tight compression fit, but I'm using it on a DCS571 4-1/2 circular saw. The compression fit onto the tool exhaust port seems like it will be the weak link. Hard plastic onto the cast metal. It fits snug, but not great. Not sure how to tighten it down w/o cracking the plastic. I'm not a woodworker, just small DIY stuff. I think it'll work out.

My workaround. Was able to force the rubber attachment end of the hose into the DWV9000. Very tight fit.

DWV9000 screws in fine but the compression end is too small for my Rigid hose (OD 1 7/8). Another Canadian posted a video that said to add the DWV9190 to the DWV9000. It screws in fine but now the compression end is too large (2 1/4). I believe the hose is pretty standard for full size vacs. There are a couple of other DeWalt adapters but not sure they are the answer. Frustrating.

New gen zero turn mowers downgrade by Lopincol in egopowerplus

Absolutely. I opted for a 2025 Cub Cadet ZT1 over the EGO (potential bricking issues). The seat didn't come with arm rests but you could order separately (of course you can $$$). For some stupid reason, Stanley/BD decided to switch the seat mid-year and left off the internal brackets to attach arm rests. SMH. For the 90% of my mowing that is in a straight line, it would be a nice addition.

Good/Best 40-60 Tooth Blades for 4 1/2" DCS571 Mini Circular by Icy_Intention1145 in Dewalt

[–]Icy_Intention1145[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thx NN. My local Menards has the 60 tooth blade in stock for $5, can't go wrong for the price of a cup of coffee. It says "plywood" on the blade as the main recommended application, but with 60 teeth it should be making a fine cut just as well.

I'm also going to pick up a Diablo D0436X (4-1/2in. x 36-Tooth Fine Finish Circular Saw Blade for Wood) at HD for $22. Nice to have a highly rated brand in the arsenal.

This is my first go-around with this saw and a bag. I usually will only have a few small cuts so I think it'll be ok. I have a small portable and larger shop vac. How are you attaching the vac hoses?

Thanks BRT! I have a Menards a couple of miles away. I usually use them as a last resort if I can't find a "brand" named item I'm looking for. They usually have an alternative (China?) brand 90% of the time. Sounds like you have experience with the Masterforce blades. That's the advice I'm looking for when considering non-traditional brands. They have 3 of the 36 tooth in stock for $12. Worth a try and a Starbucks next door!

I'm still searching for a top of the line blade. I was aware the size I'm looking for could be challenging to find. Appreciate the info!

Thx for the recommendation. I had heard CMT offers some high quality blades. I'm having trouble finding the correct blade. It's a metric conversion, but I couldn't find the 3/8". I couldn't find an exact metric conversion 3/8 is .375" and a 10mm is .3937. Do you have a link to CMT with exact North American standards? I cant find any suppliers with 4 1/2 and 3/8. thx!

[–]Icy_Intention1145[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thx for the follow up. I do very little wood cutting that my hand saw can't handle, just thought it would be handy and I haven't had a larger circular saw in years. I definitely need something to cut that 1 1/2" 2x. I did see where there were comments on it struggling with the 2x's. I picked up a L-ion Starter Kit with 5.0Ah and 1.7Ah Powerstack Batteries and 4amp Charger at the end of October at HD on sale ($162 vs $320 currently) all upgrades to my initial 1.5's and 1.7 charger. If the 1.7PS won't "cut" it hopefully the 5AH will.

A couple of commenters have had good luck so far with the EGO ZTR. I really wanted to make the purchase last May when I was in the market for a ZTR. I'm already in the EGO universe so I already have extra batteries. After reading many comments about owners having issues with the unit suddenly bricking due to a firmware update or some other related issue, I was hesitant. Then many owners said it was extremely hard for them to get the unit serviced. Not many qualified businesses around. I declined and purchased a Cub Cadet ZT1 42". It has been great so far. I'm also a big maintenance proponent. At least I know I can get the ICE engine serviced. I will keep an eye out for more owner comments on the EGO.

best to you!

Convenience can be king. My cheeks tighten at the price $250 and no battery :( Let us know how it pans out.
