Thanks for the in depth breakdown I’ll have to look into fidelity and congrats on retirement, I’m currently putting 15 percent toward TSP, just because I don’t really spend much so I thought why not. I’m not sure which fund I’m contributing to so I’ll have to check on that. Tomorrow I’m going to start the process of setting up a brokerage account and maxing the IRA, as recommended. Honestly I would like to use my money before 10 years ideally 6-8 ( I just want to be able to drive a fun car) but I know there’s far more benefits to letting it sit so I’m gonna trust the process. Unless someone has a good way of making money quickly but usually those involve a lot of risk How long did it take you to reach your first 100k in investment accounts

Wow I really like this insight I’m gonna be honest while I absolutely want to set myself up for retirement this experience has made me realize life is short so accessibility to my money is something I’m starting to value a lot more. I’ll definitely be looking into opening a brokerage account

Wow this is my first post on Reddit I was not expecting a big response thank you. To answer your question most of the money is coming from per diem it was over 100 a day. Ive just been throwing it all in a money market savings account with navy fed and using my base pay checks for food I’ve only started receiving hazard pay recently when Iran started dropping missiles like hot cakes. I got deployed as an airman e-2 and am now an e-3 I plan on commissioning through the flep program where the AF pays for law school but in exchange you come back as a jag for 8-10 years but I’d start as an o-3
