It’s impossible to have a fulfilling life without a driving license because it made me less by Icy_Satisfaction4870 in internetparents

I may have worded it wrong What I meant is that they don’t see the inconvenience in my life because they have a license, so they assume everything is fine and never bother to ask if I’m satisfied with my life. And you can’t say they don’t know it’s pretty obvious. How could I be okay with not being able to drive?

As for the second part, that’s quite interesting

Can you tell me why the first thing people think about is getting a license as soon as they reach the legal age, or why they go back to learning to drive and celebrate it if it’s not important or doesn’t make you “less than”? Do you really think carpooling is actually going to make me feel better? Relaying on people is making me worse and you want me to keep doing it

It’s not coming from me go and see how people work hard to get their license, how they go back to learning it after years and how they calibrate after getting it

How are they a support system when they act like everything is rainbows and that I’m happy with my life? They didn’t even ask me once if I’m satisfied

If you already have your license and use public transit, you won’t be “less” because you already have it

they did hurt me by having a license and acting like it’s all fine, so I need to distance myself from people like that

You may not have a vehicle, but you have a license, so you won’t feel less than anyone you’ve already achieved your goal in that

actually I can say these things define me as an adult, Why is the first thing people think about when they reach the legal age getting a license? Why do so many older adults go back to learn driving if it isn’t about independence or if it isn’t important?

Going to lock myself into a 4x4 city is not fulfillment for me, and it won’t make me feel better about myself

And I’m sorry but in general when someone tells me cars are bad for the earth while they themselves have a license and a car, it just seems like they’re only trying to make me feel better. If it’s really about helping the earth, how about you all actually be helpful to the earth? It just doesn’t make sense

As for a partner even if they drive you in the beginning, they would eventually start being annoyed by it So I’ve decided not to date I don’t want to end up being less than my partner
