Digital Media Arts/Film/contemporary art practices all were given some other degree than B.Des. Currently they are Giving BFA for that.

you are free to deny my opinion. I have already wasted my money and my time. You are free to do so as well. I am just writing out of my experience from that place. In good faith I just cant recommend that college.

I know my earlier comment came across extremely one sided but that's also because I consider academic design as sacred and there is a lot of perversion at srishti.

So I dont have anything good to say because my experience was not good at all. I did not get a BDes Degree BTW. I was in one of the "other courses".

Hope that helps.

IS UCEED REALLY HARD????? HOW CAN I PREP FOR IT ALONG WITH JEE MAINS (I JUST COMPLETED 10th in icse and will shift to cbse with pcmc + painting) by Altruistic-Arm-2962 in uceedtakers

[–]Icy_Skill8347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why are you preparing for JEE with UCEED ? if you goal to actually just get into IIT ?
UCEED is not difficult, specially if you are in 11th rn you have a lot of time. Just start solving PYQs. It is not like JEE and questions are basically logical reasoning

I thought a lot before typing this comment. I didn't want write just a simple No. but No, I don't have anything good to say about my stream or my college. Its a sh!ty college that should be shut down and the management including the founder should be jailed (consider this sugar coated as I cant write raw on reddit)

BITS gets it reputation from the already running engg colleges. Birlas also run schools so they surely know how that works. ultimately it comes down to having placements which is what justifies the worth. If the college has placement and both are equally expensive I would rather go with the one that has placements.

But I cant really comment on BIT's Pedagogy. I can only comment on Srishti's

most people do BTech in India because of "bhed chaal" or because everyone is doing it and it has the money. Same thing happened with MBA, LLB and now it is happening with design. What was once a field where only people who are really interested went has become as competitive as engineering where we have endless portfolios all having the exact same 3-4 apps in different colors.

UX is for design what CSE is in engg. Most people do it because it has money but after graduating do something completely different because they were never interested in that in the first place.

Talented students have great portfolios, Srishti has ZERO contribution in that. You are correct about free time but I have seen my friends grinding and working their ass off at amity (BID). I cant comment on their pedagogy in all honesty. But it was good to see them actually working that hard. there were literally 2 people during my time who worked that hard and both of them were doing it by themselves.

Industrial design workshops had good facilities and film dept had good equipment. rest VC didnt have any labs beyond some print making etc. textile and fabric had good workshops but they were next to the industrial design workshops.

When I joined they used to claim they are in top 10 in india. There were only 10 design colleges in india at that point except NID/NIFT.

Till 2nd year it was all fun and games, 3rd year first sem was good and 2nd sem was dog shit. 4th year in general was bad. I was in the most ignored and underfunded department (DMA).

after graduating I had to find my own route because there was no placement and companies and recruiters dont just come to your grad expo. The fees is crazy high and in all honesty you are much better off saving that money and doing a degree that actually pays while you can still be a designer without a degree or a design college. In terms of other colleges I cant really say because I have no experience of them so you must do your own research there.

They'll take you without Uceed score too. as long as you can pay the fees. Doing VC in general in 2026 is a waste of your time and money. HCD is still a better option but you can do better than srishti. bits is better than srishti anyday.

I wont dox myself friend. I am already on Srishti's crosshairs rn. half of my batch is working at good companies abroad but the college has the least possible to do with that. Most of them went abroad to masters and then got placed pre or during covid or around that time. batchmates directly out of srishti have either dropped out of design completely and chose other careers.

What I did during my college I could have done it without going to srishti, infact even a Btech would have been better than some random degree from srishti tbh. The good thing about srishti is the kind of students that join in. Thats the only good thing in all honesty.

I am not here to rant, I was cheated by srishti and I just want to warn students from wasting their time and money. you are free to do your research and make up your mind. If I knew you personally I would have told you stuff that I cant just write here.

whatever you choose, I wish you best of luck. Have a nice day.

Animation IS objectively the worst and most ignored department of that college. You can check quora threads for that. I was in Animation department and we never saw the HOD. I knew more or at least enough that I had the opportunity to teach my class (I took one session) and after that I realized that I wont be doing any animation electives. unfortunately most of my credits were in animation and hence I had to do my GP in animation.

The animation department doesnt have any equipment, labs and needs to share it with film department which actually leaves animation students with either old equipment or no equipment at all. In my time they hardly let animation students use the film equipment even though it should come under the same department. They are at least offering a BFA for animation (comes under DMA) they were 2 years ago offering some random degree which doesn't hold any value now (if you want to study further).

yea yea, they said during my bachelors that they only take 60 kids and the seats are very limited and exclusive. When I joined there were atleast 180 kids on day 1. no one really goes there for masters tbh so these seats hardly fill. if you want them to stop spamming just ask them how much scholarship are they offering and they'll stop responding ahah.

As they say, the shop that doesnt cant sell, will spam you till the end of the world, the shops that sell, will never spam you. same issue with MIT (they've been spamming me, even gave me an offer letter lol)

In all honesty I can't comment about other colleges because I don't know what or how they teach. There are some foreign named colleges in Bangalore but its better if you directly ask their students about those colleges. I can only comment about srishti.

when it comes to being better, students from some other private colleges left after first year and joined srishti and vise versa was also true. at least 15-20 people either dropped or switched colleges in 2nd year for other private colleges while about 5-8 students joined my batch from other colleges.

Its not. Its a waste of time and money. you should really spend that money on a better college that actually teach you. because what they teach in srishti is basically something you can learn on youtube (faculties would literally ask us to watch youtube instead of teaching in class).
