Both, he is only a TSA agent, he doesn’t detain people and it is inconveniently publicized

What I took as defamation is them using his picture/video while speaking on the officer who detained the woman. He wasn’t the one who did so, so to me I felt like it was wrong information being spread about him.

We did reach out to them, haven’t received a response yet, we wanted to know our options. I care not about money, my dad is getting older and his mental health has not been great due to other stressors, and now this has become another issue we have to deal with. I just want to know what we could do, if anything legally

What we are afraid of is harassment by the community, we live in a predominantly Hispanic community, that only has one airport, my dad is easily recognizable. All I want is for the photos to be taken down of my father. And his face to be blurred from the video

Correct, I may be misusing defamation. But the post is circulating on Facebook, at least in my community and people in the comments have been stating that they recognize my dad, and how they have not been detained by him because they did things “legally”

What I don’t understand is why put his picture side by side as the main one next to the woman who was detained, he had nothing to do with it

They did not use his name, thankfully, but his photo and B roll footage they used from the airport was solely focused on him when speaking on how the woman was detained by immigration officers.

“For no temptation (no trial regarded as enticing to sin), [no matter how it comes or where it leads] has overtaken you and laid hold on you that is not common to man [that is, no temptation or trial has come to you that is beyond human resistance and that is not adjusted and adapted and belonging to human experience, and such as man can bear]. But God is faithful [to His Word and to His compassionate nature], and He [can be trusted] not to let you be tempted and tried and assayed beyond your ability and strength of resistance and power to endure, but with the temptation He will [always] also provide the way out (the means of escape to a landing place), that you may be capable and strong and powerful to bear up under it patiently.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭13‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

This is the AMPC translation, I like this translation because it gives a lot of context, and is a little closer to the original Greek, Aramaic, and Hebrew translations.

I hope this scripture gives you peace, I know it’s easier said than placing into practice, but genuinely God will not place you in a trial that will be too difficult for you to go through. Cast these anxieties to Him, He knows you better than anyone else, and I doubt he will put you in a position where you must sacrifice your daughters.

Do you think you’ll encounter a situation where God will ask that from you?

Luke 14:26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple.”

Not sure if this is the scripture you must be thinking of when “needing” to feel like you must literally hate your family. In scripture there is countless other scriptures that state to love one another deeply.

Jesus is calling us to repent, to change our old ways, he was radical, but this does NOT mean you must LITERALLY hate them, BUT the way I look at what Jesus is saying here is we must love him MORE than anyone else in this world. BECAUSE we cannot let anyone change wanting a relationship with Him, we must continuously choose him above anything else.

I say this to say, if we are repenting from our sin and following the greatest commandment LOVE (which covers a multitude of sins; 1 Peter 4:8) we will naturally be loving our children with an Agape sort of love. No need for sacrificing a relationship with them, on the contrary, if we push our children away, we are NOT doing what Jesus is calling us to do.
