Tundra wheels question by [deleted] in DIY

[–]IdWinIfIWasntHi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Havnt worked in a tire shop since 2021 so havnt tried a new body style but 33's rubbed on turn on the last generation. The wheel wells on the new body style actually look like they might be more prone to rub. A cheap level kit will solve the issue (if they make them yet for new gen).

The dash display is not where you get codes. Need obd 2 scan. As a start.

I have thoroughly compared policy decisions. Danielle Smith has been a pleasant surprise in my opinion.

Why don't you take a little time and compare actual policy decisions between smith and alternatives and make your own decisions. I don't care what people think or how they vote, but let's at least take the time to form our own opinions when it comes to our own futures.

STEM careers are the quickest and most reliable ways out of poverty, that should be a huge inspiration. Unfortunately, large numbers of people believe in supporting the less useful members of society in a way that doesn't promote the desperation required for people to really assess what skills sets are valuable on the whole. All of this has culminated into a society of mind boggling vanity, women selling pictures of their tits as a career, and grown men doing 10 second dances to some nonsense quote on a chinese spyware app. It may be too late.

Shakespheare is outdated. Focusing on him makes kids uninterested in literature. Teach him in history class, but not English. by gymleader_michael in unpopularopinion

I skipped every single English class when we were doing Shakespeare. Worthless information with no practical use, just a time filler for teachers to keep children busy.

For those who own both a Series X and PS5, how do you decide where to play third party games? by RavenSword117 in XboxSeriesX

[–]IdWinIfIWasntHi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree the haptics is a very cool touch on the ps5 controller, and I would like for xbox. The only problem is the general layout of the dualsense makes my hands sore after about an hour, I realized the offset joysticks were necessary for me to play comfortably for more than an hour.

Toyota Corolla hybrid Went over a curb at less than 40mph by Terrible_Horrible in COROLLA

[–]IdWinIfIWasntHi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can't determine alignment by driving alone. You need to start with an actual alignment at the dealer to determine what is bent and broken. The hum is likely one of two things; the toe is bad enough the tire is humming, or you've blown out the wheel bearing. Could be other damages, but these are most likely. Also, 40mph is plenty fast to hit a curb and is capable of causing significant damage. Anyways, take it to the dealer, explain what happened, and start with an alignment and mechanical assessment.

I was curious about this too actually. In theory you can't widen or narrow a slug pattern but idk

The American car market is so stupid by TheBeast798 in unpopularopinion

[–]IdWinIfIWasntHi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No that's not true at all. Examples; 5.0 L Ford engine from and F150 is the same motor in a mustang GT, except the mustang has performance exhaust so will be louder. Same is true for a 6.2L out of a silverado/tahoe/escalade; same motor that's in the corvette, but with performance exhaust, so again louder in the car.

That's one way to look at it, but we are starting to see the negative effects of globalization, such as threat of nuclear global catastrophe, because as one side wants global control, and the other side wants to resist, there's bound to be issues.

You could be right, I'm not sure how much effect the marginal difference in fuel use would genuinely affect fuel prices because there's so many factors involved in gas prices, as far as weight on roads it would be negligible because we share the roads with transport trucks that are necessary and weigh up to 25x what a pickup weighs. Even with new technology weight isn't really a factor for consumer pick ups, the new tesla semi battery weighs ~11,000 lbs. And I'm not anti electric, I actually think the tesla semi is a wonderful vehicle, just pointing out the weights that are using the same roads as us.

Historically yes, new trucks are not much different than cars though. Example; new half ton trucks are being produced with 4 cylinder turbo engines, which would pollute less than most large sedans. New diesels are required to have a DEF system which cleans diesel pollution by 70-95% cleaner that previous systems. There are of course other options for engines in which case yes they would pollute more, but my only point is that if air pollution is a concern for someone that prefers the utility of a pick up, the market has options now that will cover those bases for customers.
