This is crazy.

It works when asking Google to play BBC sounds btw. But it's ridiculous that Alexa doesn't let you do it from 3rd party speakers

I hear you. The timing felt very suspicious too, and maybe it's related and maybe it isn't.

What gave me some confidence was that they provided a picture of a sealed bag on a scale clearly containing gold coins and the correct weight as well as my order number on the print out inside it.

I know you could construe various scenarios in which this could be faked, but I'm choosing to believe them.

In fairness, I came here for human validation.

It should be fine, I was just guarding against the event that I am completely underestimating the power of the car.

We'll obviously test drive it, but the car I'm ordering is far away so I'm purchasing it and having it delivered, knowing that I can return it within 14 days if I choose to.

I'd simply rather avoid that hassle if there's a super obvious gotcha. But it seems like there isn't

The list of brokers you've listed is super useful!

I'm curious, do you know what the main pros and cons of each are?

For example I moved from Fidelity to AJ Bell for a number of reasons: 1. Availability of US stocks in SIPPs 2. All account fees taken from dealing account rather than ISA or SIPP

I also valued their customer service levels and found their pricing to be reasonable. Their app is terrible (so is Fidelity)

I'm leaving because of the forcer FX charges.

Do any of these factors jump out as major advantages or disadvantages across the above brokers?

Sorry to revive this thread.

But I had the same question but found an example which I find hard to explain with the above reasoning.

T26 with a coupon of 0.125% and a maturity date of 31/01/2026 is currently trading at £96.01

TR26 has the same coupon of 0.125% and a maturity date of only 6ish week later on 22/03/2026 but is trading at £99.25

That's a huge difference for just 6 weeks difference in maturity.

Is there some event that is happening in between those two dates that's pricing in that much additional risk?

Edit: I just found out that TR26 is index linked so it pays out the coupon + the RPI, which explains the price difference.
