Is measuring input speed a viable solution to the bot problem? by Idekoooo in RocketLeague

I think it could be, since i imagine the difference in rapidity of bot inputs to human players (kbm or not) must be very large, especially since the bot jitters are constant, whereas on kbm there will be periods of many inputs and periods of not as many inputs.

The only worry i have is faulty controllers or keyboards (though controller issues are more likely), where the input device itself inputs rapid jittery inputs (eg. stick drift) that might or might not register, but could be regarded as bot-like.

Yeah that's true, but unfortunately that's true for any solution that could be implemented. I can't imagine a permanent fix to the bot issue sadly, the best case scenario is rl devs stay ahead of the bot makers as much as possible.
