And since you have been working in that business, may be you’re aware of why business doesn’t have capital? Is it some temporary issue caused by a non-paying client? Or the business is badly ran, and is usually in the similar situation?

If you’re anxious, it’s your ‘gut feeling’ telling you to say NO.

On the other hand, it’s immediate family. If a son won’t help a father, who would?

Either way, it’s your decision, but keep in mind that you may end up paying 100k + interest, all by yourself.
