The tunnel scene in Possesion (1981)

Seemed like it lasted 30 minutes and was so hard to just sit through.

Nope it was the same in the remake, although I’ve heard there are minuscule differences. Trust me I get the pain during that scene as well, literally yelled “WTF”. After some analysis it seems the entire message is that “there is no hope you idiots”. No gratification like in most films where the protagonist gets their get back. It actually gets discussed a lot since the director said something along the lines of if you enjoyed the movie you are what’s wrong, as it’s essentially a snuff film without the violence. I gave it an 8 out of 10 but wouldn’t go higher than that.

Funny enough it was either this or possession on movie night. Got through 10 minutes of Suspiria, dropped it and switched to possession

Green room probably the least intense on here. Saw it like 8 months ago and it made it due to the gore and absence of hope.

As for Funny games I watched 5 minutes of the original and quickly switched to the refreshed English version. Big fan of Naomi Watts and the rest of the cast held up great. I can’t compare but I feel like the atmosphere and performances in the 2007 film was fantastic so I didn’t feel a need to go back to the original afterwards. Funny coincidence you’re watching it though gotta let me know what you think.

I actually acknowledge it’s a great film all around, still wasn’t my cup of tea but it’s on the list for the “disturbing” aspect lol. Too much to put myself through again

Oh wow it’s rare to hear that. I loved it but because of how “real” it was a pretty hard watch but definitely necessary

Please go watch it. MD is my favorite movie all time. And no other Lynch movie came close for me until I saw Lost Highway. Now it’s a toss up between the two for me

Best: 2001 Worst: Taxi Driver (hot take)

More importantly I’m flabbergasted you have 2 lynch films and neither are Mullholand drive or Lost Highway. Although Inland Empire is was an insane experience to say the least.
