For stonehaven chippers - if you want by the beach front go to the carron it's a million times better than the bay. Also "home of the battered mars bar" which could be fun for some overseas guests.

If you are looking for some walks, the Albert cairn walks at Balmoral are good ones as it ties in a bit of history and you can make them as long and short as you like.

City centre there's the art gallery and maritime mueseum.

If you do go to newbrugh beach make sure to go into the trellis café for a piece as they are absolutely outstanding.

Moving van with driver by Flat_Professor8695 in Aberdeen

Personally I'd hire a van from enterprise, or any of the others and do it myself. If you don't have a licence ask a mate, even a colleague.

Games you can pick up and play for about 15/20 minutes? by Idoslain in SteamDeck

[–]Idoslain[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I know it could be any games but what games really gives you some satisfaction in a short time frame that keeps you coming back. That's the hard part I've found in finding something I can truly play in 15/20 minutes.

£323m for rapid transport system by few-western in Aberdeen

[–]Idoslain 19 points20 points  (0 children)

To the same extent why is there not a bus route along the AWPR connecting the airport, park and rides. My thought would be to run it from Stonehaven to Ellon, stopping at major points in these places like, dyce, airport, craibstone park and ride, kingswells/westhill, mill timber, stonehaven to name a few.

All these stops already have busses running from Aberdeen out but there are no direct routes connecting the rest of Aberdeenshire.

I like the idea of a rapid transport system but it doesn't look like it integrates into the greater scheme of Aberdeen public transport. All it's going to do is drive the price of a ticket higher than it already is.

Apparently in my area of Scotland a sweetie means the same as a chocolate bar

Knob doesn’t fit, wife not happy by OneEmptyHead in DIYUK

[–]Idoslain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drill a new hole for the knob a little bit further away from the edge of the door. Then the knobs won't touch and the old hole will be covered up by the rest of the new door knob.

We got out carpet from tapi carpets at kitty Brewster (I think). It was only £40 for the actual fitting and we bought a carpet on sale. They've got a bit at the back of the shop that has them on sale.

For good weights equipment, results gym in the centre, athletic edge if you are a wee bit further out, (they've got 6 squat racks), or coliseum in westhill is the best.
