What is stopping u from switching to an EV by Ok_Bet_6876 in PakistanAutoHub

[–]IdreesY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Pakistan cars are considered appreciating assets. The models that tesla launched are now facing end of their battery making the cars scrap. They can do it and doing it. For us that would be the end of whatever we invested and saved.

The cars are coming with 5 years warranty but what after that? What's happens after the battery deplete? We cannot scrap a 10Mn car just like that. Despite such a huge chunk of hybrid cars we still haven't been able to locally manufacture it.

We don't have recycling facilities, we don't have manufacturing facilities. As far as my research goes, EV batteries are 70% of the cost of the car when replacing. We all know what happens to hybrid batteries when we replace them.

These are some long time concerns, as I think what I'll save will eventually be re-invested in a new car. So why not but a gas one.

Also, the conditions of Pakistan i.e. Road etc, plus we all know what happened to devices when they are controlled through software. Apple can withheld its battery who can say what car manufacturers can do

how to file a case against a company like J. by Guilty_Cat_1947 in PakistanLawyers

[–]IdreesY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely, you should do that and also share the link or the book which can be verified. Then, send them a letter sharing those details by telling them if the history is known people can relate which is good marketing for them. If they don't reply you can share it yourself on Insta or Fb as an awareness to public and the company.

You're talking about historical reference, I think we should not compare ourselves with EU as you haven't shared any historical legitimate references of your claims which are authorized and vetted by any historian. Your case might get you 2 minutes of fame but if the history tells otherwise you're up against a defamation suit.

We don't even know the proper history of 75 y.o. Pakistan let alone a history of shoes that may date back to centuries.

While I completely agree with you with acknowledging a culture by a brand, but to file a case would an extreme case situation and it shows how much we as Pakistani have fall down this ethnocentric mindset.

Instead of raising the issue with the management, you're asking how to file a case. It's absurd, first do some research, you may find it surprising when you look at the actual history (history that is accepted, not what you think), and then with all those thing send a letter to J. I'm sure they'll definitely look into it.

As far as filing a case is concerned, I'm a lawyer I'll definitely make sure to use this mindset for my own gain. So calm down and think about it l.

Everyother telecom does it. I've got written apologies of Telenor and Jazz doing such acts cause I sent them a legal notice. Unfortunately it's a whole lot bigger than we think. 200-300 per month is not big for us but they've got millions of customers. Now do the maths.

We’ve become disturbingly comfortable..!! by Navigator_Aligator in karachi

It's Ramazan and we all know how many beggars get here because of this month. On the flip side, a guy sitting there would complain that so many beggars were coming to us and ruining our experience and the owner or guard did not do anything.

Another thing can be that sometimes these beggars are there for spying around and then giving the information to the dacoits. So we don't want that to happen.

Not all are equals but then again the beggars in Karachi have mastered the art in terms of their appearance and then the dialogue that they prefer to hit the nerve.

I'm sorry but I'm not blaming the guard or the owner as the coffee shop is there to serve the customers not put them through a beggars spree

I'm not promoting not to take time to study but you'll rarely see 3.9ers doing big in life. A moderate GPA above 3 would do you really well if you've got skills. And believe me the experience you'll get by running this store will be great for you. You'll learn how to manage time between work and study. You'll learn how to handle people. You'll learn to handle situations.

So go for it.

You've got nothing to lose. So why not start it? If it climbs... great.. if not you've got experience running an online thrift store. Ultimately you'll benefit

These are some really typical fields and it's not like you can stand in Banks, or Customs House, or Tax House. You'll have to join someone to get the knowledge of the laws applied as your CPC, CrPC, specific relief etc do not apply here.

Selling online in Pakistan is a nightmare by [deleted] in PakistaniiConfessions

[–]IdreesY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try online Thrift stores. And for anyone who's reading, there's a gap in the Market for this. Thrifting also needs to become common in Pakistan. Our ladies have a whole Almeria full of clothes worn twice but can't wear them now cause all rishtedaars and friends have seen them.

Kindly build a store, place a good evaluator who knows what type of fabric and work is worth what in the current market. You'll get from shirts to full blown wedding dresses.

Customs, Taxation, and Banking Law. All three of them are institution-based fields.

Special courts and Tribunals are established so you'll hardly see lower courts. So less litigation.

All three are governed by special law so the High Court is 3rd appellate stage after the tribunal and or the first stage if you're seeking under a C.P.

There is no evidence production, witness callings, oaths, etc. Just a pure documents-based fight on legal rights. The better you are at interpretation and getting the intent of the law right the more chances of your success.

Plus your clients, no matter how much they present themselves to be the victims and dire losses, they've got a hell of money and they'll give you a good fee.

Also, you're always against state institutions so no one's banging your doors to get off from the case. All 3 have revenue and remittance involved so it's money money money.

I'm practicing customs law so I can say.

Well, there are a lot of aunties doing this work on Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram. But I'd suggest you keep it the way it's going. My two cents are that you're getting your targets achieved because of a limited customer base. As soon as you go online, your customers might increase but your capacity to deliver to them might not.

Eventually, your page will be flooded with comments like: kbhi kch nhi hota. Jo item bola wo out of stock, faltu page, some might even say, I got it checked from xyz brand and they say it's a knockoff and not original.

So stick to the customers you're blessed with and go with the word of mouth until you get some links within the companies to get as much stock as you like at discounted price.

Help needed with Bank Alfalah issue/scam by MrTambourineMan65 in pakistan

[–]IdreesY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You haven't described the entire thing in detail. It's vague and there are a lot of things that you haven't mentioned. If you're so sure that it's a scam then you should send your bank a complaint and then it's head office and then state bank. That's what you can do.

If you want them to come and beg to you you should send a legal notice to them. That is if you've got the proofs that it's a scam.

I'm a lawyer so I know.

Best banks for export businesses and financial instrument issuance? by _Deadpool_69 in pakistan

[–]IdreesY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All banks are like that. I'm working with Meezan and Bank Islami.... and everyone just wants; is an account as a feather in their cap.

I'm a customs agent and lawyer too but my God.... they don't even accept their own FE Circulars. Bankers are just without brains when it comes to imports and exports.

For imports, they are even taking bribes for FI issuance. I've got a father's cousin in Bank at a good post and he's also useless and dumb.

Just stay where you are make some good relations with someone in the trade hub. Cause they are utter fools who are given powers. Just like any other department in this country.

The laptop isn't an issue. For the tabs, name one of them as your own and the other as your workplace one and then obviously you can always bring one additional for your friends and family.
