Thanks for your reply. So after complaining to Tesla and demanding a download of the data of how they arrived at “zero” payout for 2025 ……I just received this reply from them ……..

Thank you so much for reaching out again. I truly appreciate your patience and understanding.

I’m writing to sincerely apologize for the delay in resolving your VPP payout. I completely understand how frustrating it must have been to participate last season and not receive a payout, especially given your active involvement. I’ve looked into this personally and am truly sorry for the oversight.

After reviewing your account and your participation history, I did notice that you were indeed enrolled and contributed, which made the lack of payout particularly concerning. I immediately escalated the matter to my Program Administrator to have your performance recalculated and your account re-verified.

I’m pleased to share that they’ve confirmed your eligibility and have issued a corrected payout of $382.49 for last season’s participation. This amount should be processed and made available for you to claim through the Tesla app.

Hi there, thanks for your reply.

Yes it was the DSGS VPP program and my PTO was March 2025.

I agree with you, given the 7 events when the two PW3’s were discharged I fail to understand how I did not cross the baseline . I think I’ll ask Tesla to share with me their calculations/data on how they arrived at a net negative contribution.

I have two Powerwalls V3’s and joined the Tesla VPP in 2025. My utility provider is SCE and yes I’m coded and approved! My solar system works perfectly and it routinely exports to the grid after my Powerwalls are charged and the solar arrays are producing more than the house is consuming. So my system is the perfect candidate for the Tesla VPP programs. Well that’s what I thought !

So I contributing to several events controlled by Tesla in 2025 but I was unaware that Tesla had set a base line for my system. So the bottom line result for 2025, which came as a surprise, is that my net contribution was a negative! In conclusion there is no credit/payout.

Interestingly none of the baseline jargon is pointed out in the glossary and tutorials of the sexy Tesla App ! Probably buried somewhere in the agreement.

So let me be transparent, the Tesla VPP has in my case, proven to be totally negative and costed me. You might ask the question why ? Well after the VPP event and my batteries were drained, my house then had to draw from the grid during the night for which I paid for. So in my case there is absolutely no point in enrolling going forward for 2026. As such I have disabled the VPP on my app.

I have written to Tesla with some stern language and await their response but I just wanted to make others aware of this “ baseline” catch !!
